Interviewing potential nanny for share tomorrow - any hints/advice?

I am interviewing a nanny tomorrow with 2 other women for a 3 way split. Have never had a nanny before - obviously I will check references and request a CRB check but are there issues that anyone who has a nanny thinks might be worth considering or anything you wish you had known/ sorted out before starting with your nanny or share?

Elkie and nbee - thanks for your comments. It sounds like you had really ideal arrangements. I suppose all scenarios have their own merits as they as so dependent upon the individuals concerned. I just need to find my childcare soulmate - nanny or CM! Actually there is a lovely but small nursery near us, unfortunately lack of vacancy and closing time make it unsuitable.

I've done a 3 way nanny share, with a very similar arrangement to yours, so only 2 children at a time. I enjoyed it but there were definately down sides. Holiday was very difficult to organise and at there was a dispute over using the time when one child was at preschool and the other not. As mentioned it can be very hard to keep 3 families happy when they all feel that by employing a nanny they can have more input into what goes on then with a childminder or nursery.

However, I did feel more 'professional' working in this way. I was not at the beck and call of any one employer as the needs of all the children had to be balanced and no one knew what would work best for us except me. In my job now working for 1 family I get asked to do things which I wouldn't choose to do myself, eg making cakes after school when everyone is tired and I need to make tea. If parents think it's a good idea then I have to just get on with it. Previously I could say 'That won't work very well' and that would be respected.
