mumsanutter · 15/12/2008 07:10

I'm not working during the day at the moment, but still have after schoolies and then am working up to christmas eve, so whats that 8 working days!!

Ds3 is not good today, he has been so hot over night that have had to sponge him down with a cold flannel - and he keeps asking for a macdonalds!!! Was meant to be going out with some fellow childminders for a treat for the little ones for christmas, but can't go now! . Might make some jam tarts later, does anyone have a recipe for the pastry???

NumberFour · 15/12/2008 07:15

Morning!

Me, too, Shoshe: 5 days and counting!
SB: aren't newborns gorgeous (when you don't have to do all the hard work.... I really struggled during those days )
Mums: have a look at netmums for a recipe for pastry. Really sorry that your DS is not well. Here's to hoping that all the bugs will have done their thing before Xmas and that you have an illness free break!

Off to the children's centre toddlers today. Then back at home to tick off the hours

LoveMyGirls · 15/12/2008 07:48

7 working days for me.......

I'm still not feeling my best and dd2 isn't her best either but I'm still working thanking my lucky stars that I've got until next monday until I've got 7 dc's because I'm not up to that today but I will hopefully be back to normal by then!

I started my xmas newsletter last monday and still haven't finished it so I need to look at that today.

mumlove · 15/12/2008 07:57

Only 3 days left for me I still need new mindees, but I so need the time off.

Going to cm drop in this morning for mess making!

Have a happy monday .

SammyK · 15/12/2008 08:06

DS not at nursery today s still rough (woke up this morning with dried blood all round his mouth), so I will have a hectic house today.

Hope all th poorly people feel better soon.

WhileShosheWatchedHerFlocks · 15/12/2008 08:09

We are making the Christmas card for the Soft Play owners, they are great to us, we get a discount, they know all our kids names, and are even doing our Christmas party on Wednesday at a discount.

No 4 - thanks for pastry advice. Have found the recipe and printed it off, and my boys (11, 3 and 1) and I will be making 'tarts' later.

Sorry to hear that some of you are unwell, hope you get better for christmas.

SammyK · 15/12/2008 08:34

Why do I always need the loo while waiting for mindees to arrive? The more desperate I am the later they get! 30 mins late so far and counting! {crosses legs}

SammyK · 15/12/2008 09:20

Morning all

Busy busy this week

Catch you all later

LOONEYsingingachristmasTUNEy · 15/12/2008 10:08

Morning all. I'm not working today as ds2 has conjunctivitis But on the positive side, I didn't have to rush and pack for ds1's trip last night so I'm doing that this morning. If you see me in here again, tell me to get out as I must get the packing done!!!

Then I'm off out for a lovely 5 course meal with entertainment tonight with some of our post natal group - first night out since having ds2 and I'm not working tomorrow either so can have a hangover without worrying about other people's kiddies

Right, I'm off, have a good day all

vInTaGeVioLeNcE · 15/12/2008 10:37

mumlove · 15/12/2008 18:35

Happy birthday dmo

NumberFour · 15/12/2008 19:25

happy birthday, DMO!

i usually get my mindees books for Xmas or birthdays and they are usually less than impressed (despite ALL my mindees being fantastic readers!).

Today they were talking in the car what presents they were getting. Conversation turned to books and aside from the usual "I would rather die than get another book!", the funniest was:

"I would rather stick my head up a dinosaur's bum than get a book for Christmas!"

I am still laughing, the little blighter! (I was going to call him a little sh*t but I could not be bothered to deal with the fallout!)

PinkChick · 15/12/2008 19:58

HI all, sos orry to hear there are so many poorly..poor dd is joining the club i fear..she had the first round of her nativity today and it was lovely, we got home and i had to deal with parent problem by speaking to ncma, baby mindee was asleep so i calle dthem and dd laid no her bed, in the dark..shes got a temp of38 but slowly decreasing as shes had medised and shes just not weel..she says her throat hurts and last night had no sleep either, but didnt seem ill..just Awake IYKWIM?
then this morn she said when she coughs her head hurts...so is in bed now, only one mindee to take to school in morning and 2 to pick up, so i can either see if dp can go late, leave early from work?..or let them know i wont be able to do it...maybe dd would be ok to do school run?..see how she is overnight and in morn, but she'l be really sad if she cant as its the second nativity play and she got to bring a book pack home, to write about and take back in morn..shes a little worry wart..just hope shes ok, have said ill speak to school about book pack if shes too poorly.

the parent who ahnded in notice and gave me a week has now(after speaking to ncma themselves and them confirming i was totally correct)decided to keep mindee here till the last date I have told them and has actually admitted they have dealt with it all the wrong way and should have spoken to me instead of jumping in with both feet and getting it all wrong..i've cleared EVERYTHING up for them, i could confirm and explain away ALL of the issues she brought up and told them they cant just hear one side of each story, I know the facts, they only know what they guess or hear incorrectly..wont go into it, but makes me wonder what they think we DO/SHOULD do with thier children all day?..damned if you do, damned if you dont really!
