Dances around the staff room, then collapses on the sofa and goes back to sleep.

ZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Morning. Why do children have to get up soooooo early sometimes? I'm shattered before the day has begun!

Strong coffee and pancakes anyone?!

aGalChangedHerName · 27/11/2008 07:10

God i am knackered too. DH's had a new alarm system fitted at work and it's crap

As the 1st named key holder he gets any calls from the alarm company re break ins etc. Alarm goes off for no reason so we get 4 bloody calls last night.

DH says heads will roll today. Don't envy the alarm company!!!

shoshe · 27/11/2008 07:12

'Is it Christmas yet?, I sooooooooo want my two weeks off'

Sits up and wonders where No.4 has got to, sleeping in?

Morning

Yet another night on the sofa - & DH set the tumble dryer to go on at about 3am.......it was only when it switched off that I worked out I could have turned it off before that

I hate my cold/chest/ears

Taking mindee4 & DD to Dr this am (for DD's chest/asthma), DH taking mindee1 & mindee2 to school accompanied by mindee3, then coming to collect mindee4 & DD from me to take them home so I can go on to reflexology - I start to wonder about an office job

SammyK · 27/11/2008 08:12

Hi everyone, sounds like we are all looking forward to xmas break!

I am pondering going on a diet, have put weight on recently, jeans are rather tight.

I had to scrub felt tip off my laminate flooring yesterday - but reading DMOs thread quickly put it into perspective! Hope you get a confession DMO.

mumlove · 27/11/2008 08:23

Good morning everyone.

I didn't want to get up today. Will drop DD at school and then take mindee to Toddler group . I love thursday toddler group and have gone to it before without having any mindees to take as the people there are lovely.

1 more day before the weekend Have a great day.

mumsanutter · 27/11/2008 08:42

Morning ladies,

Any strong coffee going?? DS4s chicken pox is brill !! He is fine during the day only a little bit clingy, but at night the monster arrives and he can't get comfortable and hence doesn't sleep, so I'm not getting much sleep again!!

Sammy - I'm on a sort of diet at the mo, not mixing too much carbs and protein (like slimming world, but my own version!), and it seems to be working for me, I've lost 2 stone since may (have also cut out nearly all alcohol will only have 1 or 2 glasses at the weekend!)

Gal - hope dh gets the alarm sorted out so that you can get some more sleep.

Katy - hope that the docs goes ok, and that your reflexology is nice. I have reflexology every 3-4 weeks, and was supposed to have a session last night, but my lady cancelled due to ds's chicken pox!

Shoshe - not christmas yet - 29 days to wait as eldest ds told me this morning as he left the house to go to school!

Mum - enjoy toddler group this morning.

Hope everyone has a good day, I'm not working today, as ds3 has a hospital appointment at 3pm, so have been calling in favours to get my other 3 boys looked after!!!!

NumberFour · 27/11/2008 15:45

a night of D&V for me. i feel grim - back is sore from top to tail

i texted my families at 10.45 last night apologising and saying I had to cancel because I was ill and I would have phoned if I had known if they were still awake.

by 7am one mum had replied. from 7.10 my DH started calling the others. got through to one, left 2 others messages.

one rings back at 7.35 and BLASTS me for cancelling. saying as a childminder i should know that i have a duty to provide back up care in cases like this, and while she is sorry i am ill it has put her in a predicament and if she stays off work she will lose her job.

that was a voicemail message she left. so i rang back only to be met by another barrage of abuse. i said i will have to put the phone down if you talk like that to me. i hung up. another call followed. another barrage of abuse and once again i hung up. she sent text saying I was being disrespectful and wanted an apology within the hour.

WTF???????????????????????????

i sent her text saying minder X maybe able to help and if she does not have the number to let me know. text back later saying I must please let her know tonight if I can take her child tomorrow.

i had a CM for my son for about a year. i would NEVER have talked to her like that. This mum has been with me for over a year!!!!!

i feel really crap today. and now i feel that i must work tomorrow. but i am so sore and feeling really awful.

sorry, everyone, me me me me me

SammyK · 27/11/2008 16:44

Sorry you are unwell no4, and that you have had such a bad reaction! This mum is out of order.

What will she do if her child is ill? Will that also result in her losing her job?
If her situation is tru you would think she would have alternative arrangements in place!

You know you can't work tomorrow! Definately don't work on her behalf!! What do yur policies say re D+V?

shoshe · 27/11/2008 17:25

It is NOT YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to arrange cover for her if you are ill, it is HER responsibility.

I would also give notice.

Nobody would speak to me like that, especially when I had tried my damndest to let her know I was ill.

OP posts:
mumsanutter · 27/11/2008 17:27

No4, you need to let this mum know that your sickness policy ie not allowed back for 48 hours after last bout also applies to you, so you are not able to work tomorrow!!

Please, please look after yourself. You (and we all) know that this mum is being out of order. Hope you feel better soon [hug]

nannynick · 27/11/2008 18:32

Hi all... think that me and the children have been a bit under the weather today. I, or baby have barely eaten all day - though we both kept taking liquids. Think this week must be the week for bugs to go around.

PinkChick - Got a text from my mum, she is now a 10 hour drive away from Bangkok. She says that Bangkok is an amazing place - she seems to be enjoying being in Thailand, even with the airport under siege.

PinkChick · 27/11/2008 20:25

Aw good nick, i was thinking of you/her while watching news this morn, glad she is safe, but sad you are under weather..hoep you feel better soon

Number4....apart from ANYTHING else i would like to say about that obnoxious cretin..do you NEED to keep her child on??..as i have had people like this and depite losing a min of £70 a week, it was the best thing i ever did telling her who was boss and that this is MY business and that I am an adult and will NOT be spoken to with such UTTER disrespect..def dont work tomorrow love, you know the rules imagine what shed be like if her child caught it!
