1.7 degrees outside here! Courtesy of DH's mini weather station . Yes, a mini weather station within 7 days of The TV Episode.

Nice Calm stay at home morning after school run to two schools with 5 children

Shoshe, cannot thank you enough for the handbook...

Mumsanutter, poor you! Seems like it has been going on for weeks in your home. Great that you only start at 3pm.

shoshe · 25/11/2008 07:28

Yup we have been lurgy ridden for nearly 4 weeks now (or is it more??? time just seems to meld into itself here ) - mindee had chicken pox (and was off), ds3 had a chest infection on abs, ds4 got a chest infection on abs and as soon as ds4 finished his abs he got the chicken pox!!

How many bets its me that has the lurgy at christmas??? Well hopefully dh will be at home, so I can try and get some rest ...... soon!

I am also getting a child free hour today. A good friend is taking ds4 for a while so that I can go to the docs in peace

Morning everyone.

Very cold here to. Will have to make sure I take hats on the school run this morning.

It is the last day for 1 of my mindees (an older sibling) as she has finally got a school place at her mums school she has waited 1 yr and 1 term and is so excited .

Thankyou for the hot choc, I will need it as off to music tots this morning and my 4 runs to school day!!

My local CM group are having a xmas party for mindees on Monday.

leonifay · 25/11/2008 08:53

morning, i've got tonsilitus (i cant spell it!) i was going to go to a toddler group today to do a reading corner but as i'm child free and feeling like crap, i might just snuggle up on the sofa with a blanket
mums i hope your lurgy free in your house very soon being sick is no fun!

looneytune · 25/11/2008 09:15

No time to read right now but anyone able to help with this thread - possible conjunctivitis

SammyK · 25/11/2008 09:52

Hi everyone, I am only having one morning mindee today as DS has been saying his mouth hurts since Thurs night, so have a doctors and a dentist appointment today, he is off his food and sleeping even worse than usual, can't carry on like this!

Sorry to hear the mums house and leonifay poorly too - hope you all get better soon.

I now need to figure out the logistics of DS's dentit appointment as it is morning mindees pck up time (2.30). Sigh.

PinkChick · 25/11/2008 10:42

Hi Girls, sorry to hear the illness' are doing the rounds, hope you all clear up soon

im struggling to actually get out and about at min, so can you suggest anything??

i have a mindee who comes 11.30-1.30 every day, mum drops of here picks up here.
monday i have one other mindee 1-5.30 (plus before after schoolys every day, but they dont affect my daily activities really), no other mindees on the tues (usually) and then on the wed, thur fri, i have 2 more under 5's, one of whom goes to school nursery 12.15-3.15.

we used to go to all sorts of groups morning and afternoon, but right now they seem impossible to do and get back in time for 11.30-1.30 mindee or for her to be collected and i;m getting a bit of cabin fever!

we used to go to a group on a thurs 1.15-2.15 with baby mindee, but that would mean we wont be home for mum to collect older mindee..should i just say to her, we will be here today instead of home, can you collect here instead?...last time i (stupidly) said oh ill take mindee and just meet you at school later (meaning worked tho whole afternoon for nothing to make it easier for them)..i know the bad weather makes things difficulat anyway, but am getting a bit fed up as we used to always be out at groups or at park and lately there has been nothing..we ARE doing stuff, lots of fun music time, crafts, fee play etc etc here, but i miss the groups and outings, but it just seems like such hard work to arrange...WWYD?

mumsanutter · 25/11/2008 10:59

Pink, I'd get mum to collect from group at her normal time. Say as a treat we are going here this afternoon, please collect ? from here at 1.30. Either that or ask mum to drop the child to you at a group etc

I fully know what you are saying, as with the mums house having the lurgy we have another week of not being able to go to groups - I am beginning to hatethe site of my walls, and have contemplated painting a few so that they look different!!!!

PinkChick · 25/11/2008 11:02

yeah i think thats all i can do...i cant get mum to drop off at groups (we i know i CAN, but wont) as groups are total diff direction to were mum needs to be so she would have to set off 30 minutes earlier then walk the 50 mins back to her job...but i will do that re the afternoon group i think as i cant keep the others in for this one child..thanks Mums

SammyK · 25/11/2008 11:22

I completely know how you feel PinkChick, I have mindee1 arrive at 8 am, DS school for 9am, mindee2 arrive 9.15 (tho usually late), pick ds up from school 11.25, mindee1 picked up 12-1 (varies), mindee 3+4 arrive 2 pm, mindee2 picked up 2.30 pm, baby has tea 4.30pm, mindee 3+4 picked up 6pm.

It does limit things, though I do often ask parents to pick up from a park or group if the weather is nice otherwise I would never get out!
