Do you think I will get this variation?

I am registered for 5 children under 8 (as I have my own DS thats 4).

I am currently full, but want to take on another child before and after school.

Do you think Ofsted will register me for 6 under 8's?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

If your registration shows 5 children under 8, then Ofsted have probably counted your own child as the 6th child, rather than as the 5th child. Check with Ofsted, but I think you are probably OK to have 5 mindees, plus your child. They will never register you for more than a total of 6 under 8 (including your own).

Yes they have counted my DS as the 6th child.

I just wondered what my chances are of them letting me have 6 mindees under 8.

unfortunately you will not be given such a variation. CM can only have 6 under 8s including your own. you could of course take on another one over 8 if it does not affect the care of your other mindees.

What No4 said!

Even if you get a variation for 4 under 5's, you can only then have 2 age 5 - 8. Only 6 in total.

Ok - thanks. It looks like i'll have to let one schoolie go that I only have 1 hour after school, to make way for one that needs me 3 hours a day in total before and after school
