Actually I don't feel as bad as I did yesterday!

Dr put me on AB's and they seem to be working, but I also got Steroids again for my chest . The amount of bloody steroids I take I should look like Arnie, instead I look like SpongeBob (I'm not yellow tho )

Anyway enough of my rambling. New baby starts tomorrow, and yesterday and today I have had in my lovely boy who left in September.
The family are emigrating to Oz on Saturday, and instead of mindee going sea fright in a box, they thought it was a good idea to have him out of the house. So I get two days with him before they go

Morning

Mindee was sick yesterday. Hasn't been sick again but mum is keeping him off which is a first.

So i am on here having a lazy morning till the dd's get up!!

God you poor thing Shoshe. Hope you are ok soon x

NumberFour · 18/11/2008 07:21

Hi, Shoshe and aGaletc

My DS is much better but of course is still off preschool. My mindee who was sick yesterday morning is back today though

New Year Resolution: Keep strictly to 48 hour exclusion rule when D&V involved.

Shoshe, poor you. Sounds like to have been put through the mill. I am glad that you're feeling better today.

Completely off topic: DH went out last night and bought us a hoooooge wide screen tv. I had said please please please wait til January sales. He had it in his head to go and buy it so he did . Now all I can say is Gee Whizz! What a gorgeous TV - picking my battles again..... The TV is not worth a row, but I really wished he'd waited.

mumsanutter · 18/11/2008 07:30

Morning all,

Shoshe glad you are feeling better, good luck with your new mindee.

Gal - have a good day

No4 - sorry that mindee is back - send out a news letter at christmas, wishing them a happy holiday and detail your new d and v policy in line with government guidelines!!

The mums house is still poorly, ds4 is clingy, not sleeping etc etc but am hopeing that ab's will kick in soon. ds3 is still coughing and his ab's are aout to finish, ds2 has a cough that is slowly getting worse - out comes the tixlix and nurofen! and ds1 is just tired and stroppy!! Have a good day ladies

aGalChangedHerName · 18/11/2008 07:32

The 48 hour thing doesn't work here with some of my parents either number4 and

Bloody PITA when they come back too early.

Oh and bloody DH's eh? Thankfully mune isn't into gadgets and whatnot. DS1 is tho and bought himself a 42" flat screen/woofer/super duper job for his bedroom. Twit!!!

Shoshe · 18/11/2008 07:47

I used to issue a little note to parents 9like a school permission slip) on it was last time of sickness, and time of return to childcare, I found that helped.

If the child hasnt come in to childcare, why not do it by email or text?

Shoshe · 18/11/2008 07:48

(I used to have some printed out ready just to fill in child's name time of sickness and time of return)

Brilliant idea, Shoshe.

aGaletc, I agree. The mindee did not seem to have 100% full blown D&V. Here's to hoping.

Poor Mumsanutter.... hope your DCs are okay soon and I will be emailing you sooner rather than later!

KatyMac · 18/11/2008 08:19

Morning all - I like the idea of the permission slip - mostly my parents are great about it though the one time it happens about 5 of us went down with it & we had to close

I still haven't booked anything DH won't pay £2500 for canaries (self catering) & we can't afford much else - I think I am in the wrong frame of mind tbh

I would hate a big TV - I am really not into them - but DH is a big of a gadget man too

Anyway - off to work (unless DH takes pity on my & works this am, so I can sleep)

crace · 18/11/2008 10:16

Morning all - so so excited, I had someone ring for a meet up about childminding. He's over 5 and part time but fabbo!!

Can someone tell me if EYFS applies to over 5's? I haven't received my pack yet..

KatyMac · 18/11/2008 10:58

Only until the 31st August after his 5th birthday - but not for ratios after he is at school F/T

PinkChick · 18/11/2008 11:09

Hi All...am not stasrting till 11.30 so have been scanning my eyfs stuff fo ryou lot..but wanted to say hi and if you get a strange email, then its just me...Mmsanutter, have you heard back from hosp re appointment yet?.x

NumberFour · 18/11/2008 11:52

£626.97

the new tv

i need road tax
car service - wheel bearings need replacing
Christmas is coming
my boots are shabby beyond description

i just found the slip from the tv purchase.

i am furious

MrsPuddleduck · 18/11/2008 12:03

Decent TV's are expensive - I wimpered when ours died a death (in January - when we were skint). The only thing I can say is that I don't think you really get any genuine bargains in the sales - especially for electrical items - at least you get to enjoy a nice big TV over Christmas. Plus tell him it can be his Christmas present and save yourself a job.

I am going to be really firm about D&V - my Ds2 suffered from reflux until only 6 months ago and once he starts vomiting it is a bugger to get him to stop.

MrsPuddleduck · 18/11/2008 13:08

Actually, can I ask another question.

The mindee (aged2) I am looking after atm is finishing after Christmas as her mum has got another job. I am going to still look after her sister one day after school. Her mum has said is it OK if I look after the 2 yr old mindee every now and then if she manages to get extra shifts/work. I have said fine depending on space etc. Should I keep her on my books records wise? also I was thinking of drafting a temporary contract to use for her and then annexing a sheet every time she did extra hours referring back to the original. Is that Ok or am I going about it in a complicated way?

mumsanutter · 18/11/2008 13:13

Pink, no I haven't heard from the hospital yet, and am beginning to make myself a little ill. Not sleeping (due to me and ds3), so am getting headaches and sore eyes, and no dh to give me a rest - how many bets when he comes home I get every illness going!! but then so will he, he is going to feel the difference from hong kong to here!!!

No4, I made the mistake a few years ago of telling dh to get the tv he wanted, as the old one blew up mid veiwing! and we now have a 42inch, sony lcd rear projection thingy!! I don't know gadgets but you can watch a good film on it and pretend we are at the cinema!

PinkChick · 18/11/2008 13:41

aw chick, i hope you and DS3 are feeling much better really soon..can you give the hosp/gp a ring?..id rather be thought of than a pain in the RS than be sat worrying.x

PinkChick · 18/11/2008 14:16

nannynick · 18/11/2008 14:55

Pinkchick - could I have a copy of the EYFS stuff as well? I know I'm not a CM, but I want to start getting to know this EYFS stuff a bit better. Email address is on my profile, if you don't know it already

I've just completed an e-learning course on Safeguarding Children. As I'm having an extra day off today, thought I'd catch up on doing some updating to my training.

Enjoy C.Parcs, I went to Longleat last month.
