KatyMac · 12/11/2008 22:26

Thanks for the warning bit late

I feel so loved/cherished tonight

nannynick · 12/11/2008 22:26

thought I saw the torches and pitchforks

ChirpyGirl · 12/11/2008 22:28

Naked flames and sharp points? around their precious children?
Are you sure it wasn't a flame of the crusade against evil CMer's who blink too often?

wrinklytum · 12/11/2008 22:29

Aww ladies, read the "Shopuld childminders be allowed to go to the toilet" thread.

KatyMac · 12/11/2008 22:30

Ah well now, I've been on a forest schools course & the advocate give small children potato peelers and knives to play with & to light fires with them so I'm afraid avoiding them would be difficult

Shoshe · 12/11/2008 22:32

< puts up the barracades around the Staff room, puts out the lights and stands with the slurge guns loaded by the windows>>>>>>>>>>

ARE YOU READY LADIES??????????????????????

navyeyelasH · 12/11/2008 22:42

Say what on the when now? What's going on?!?!

nannynick · 12/11/2008 22:44

Welcome back Navy... haven't seen you around these parts for a while.

nannynick · 12/11/2008 22:49

Please don't mention toilets...

4-Year-Old Child: I've flushed the toilet.
Me: Good, we flush after we've been to the toilet.
4-Year-Old Child: My socks are wet.
Me: You flushed the toilet and your socks are now wet?
4-Year-Old Child: Yes
Me: Ok, I'll get you some dry socks and I think I'll take a look in the bathroom.

Outcome: lucky there is more than one toilet in the house. That particular one is now out of action until a plumber fixes it.

navyeyelasH · 12/11/2008 22:50

Been extremely busy! Am just about to go to bed but thought I'd have a quick browse; is it me or is this place full of angsty parents tonight?

Where is this, "Should childminders be allowed to go to the toilet" wrinklytum talks off?

How are you NN? All good I hope xx

KatyMac · 12/11/2008 22:51

Nick - were you on MN......or the toilet?

Shoshe · 12/11/2008 22:51

PMSL Nick, please dont tell me he stood in the toilet to flush it

nannynick · 12/11/2008 22:58

Toilet Thread in Chat - think it is this one that was being referred to.

No, the toilet had broke, water inlet pipe had come disconnected with the pan. So luckily it was clean water going over the floor.

Katy - are you asking if I mumsnet while on the toilet? Oh you know me far too well

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/11/2008 22:59

??

but why do we have to?

KatyMac · 12/11/2008 23:00

No I was asking if neglected wet child got tht way while you were on MN or just while you were on the toilet (as one is allowable & one isn't.....apparently)

nannynick · 12/11/2008 23:04

What... I'm supposed to accompany a 4 year old to the toilet in his own home, whatever next! He doesn't like an audience these days.

KatyMac · 12/11/2008 23:05

You're eve supposed to watch them while they sleep

Have you not been reading?

Shoshe · 12/11/2008 23:08

Come on Nick catch up!

Leaving the poor boy to come to harm, dont you know he could have drowned????

wrinklytum · 12/11/2008 23:12

NANYNICK,Am not a cm but there appears to have been a disproportionate amount of CM-bashing threads on here tonight (Full moon?).

Anyhow sorry for crashing thread ladies/gents.I am sure you all do a fab job

KatyMac · 12/11/2008 23:13

Well we do when we can fit it in round the smoking/bad food/neglectx2/MN/toilet issues

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/11/2008 23:13

have read my 2nd thread of the night and now understand

FFS

llareggub · 12/11/2008 23:14

Well, OPs of bashing threads aside, I think the general consensus is that we parents love you lots.

I am going to buy my childminder a cream cake this week, just in case she has been annoyed by the threads tonight.

KatyMac · 12/11/2008 23:17

Actually llareggub I was surprised by that (I think you were on my thread about it)

We get bad press so often

We all make mistakes - but even childminders are human

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/11/2008 23:56

thing is working mums hopefuly reliese is that without us cm/nannies etc they wouldnt be able to go to work and do their job

we do a fab job and hopefully our famillies do appreicate what we do
