Hi you lot, returning to c/ming in January and despite my house in midst of kitchen redone and house in chaos I need to think about what I need to do to get up to scratch.

I haven't done anything re: EYFS including training, in fact a little lost on WHO is doing the training... I am really looking forward to starting on the right foot but a little daunted.

I will only have one space thanks to my large family so that's helping a bit.

Hope you are all ok, baby is almost 6 months if you can believe it!

Crace how spooky !!

I was thinking of you only this week !!

How is the baby ??

EYFS - meh [shrug]

Did you get the EYFS pack?

I would start with reading through that, it does explain everything you need to know.

Don't worry, I think most CM's are still trying to get used to it.

Heya boys! Baby is... teething. Our life would be all about the horrors of teething. And the lack of sleep etc etc. All very boring. But George is fabbo, and life is very busy and wonderful.

Thanks Abba - where do I get the pack? I thought we had to do some sort of mandatory training as well?

Hey Crace! Good to see you! Can't believe it's been so long! Glad all is going well with George (apart from the teething!)

I echo what Abba said and read the pack. Get it from DFES (or whatever it's called now!) - phone and hope they have them in stock!

No mandatory training as such, but, round here at least they are putting on quite a lot of Observation, asssessment etc training so call your local CIS or whoever deals with training and ask if and when they have any courses.

No mandatory training round here (SW) but local CIS running crap courses.

I KNEW it was you when I saw the title! Hope all is well Well, despite starting back 10 weeks ago (wow, that makes JJ 20 weeks old, didn't realise lol), I STILL haven't read the whole pack, and I'm due to be inspected any time soon . Life is mental and I'm spending all my free time on paperwork and still haven't got to grips with it all. I'd get yourself booked on the course and ask them how you'll get the pack. I believe they were required legally to give each childminder a pack and make sure they attended a briefing? Try and do what you can before you start back, as I stupidly thought I'd be able to catch up but with 3 under 2 every day and my own baby having me up lots in the night, no chance!! lol

Nice to hear from you xx

Our local CIS isn't doing any training until the Spring so I will call the Dfes and get a pack in.

LT - bless you, no idea how you have managed. Well done.
