Ofsted inspection, what's the worst that could happen?

Ok, got my first ofsted due at some point in the next few months. I really feel i'm doing the best I can. There is always room for improvement I know but I am really trying to get it right. yet i have this awful panic I am doing something terrible wrong. that i have overlooked some awful safety thing or that I have not got the right permissions or policies etc. What happens at my inspection if things don't go right? Do they give you an action plan and give you timescales to put it right? Pre registration inspector was lovely and really made me feel at ease but i gather they re not all like that.

Also I am told you have to cary on as normal while they are here. But how is that physicaly possible??? A stranger in he house is going to disrupt mindees and they are bound to play up while you talk to inspector to answer their questions?

Words of wisdom needed please, thanks!

The worst that could happen is that you completely lose your rag and you end up killing the inspector.

I want to know too!

Worst case scenario and all that.

some one must know!

ShinyPinkPumpkin · 11/11/2008 20:35

Worst case scenario is that you get an unacceptable judgement and a notice to improve practice in certain areas. These cases are very rare. To be honest the fact that you are even considering it suggests to me that your setting is stronger than you realise

I do have an inspection checklist I can email you if you like

NumberFour · 11/11/2008 21:04

Shinypinkpumpkin, can i bother you for a copy of the inspection checklist please??

That you have to dig up the patio, to buty said dead Inspector.

If you look in the Staff roon from Thursday of last week through till today, you will get some idea.

Thank you!!

As long as I get satisfactory I'm not bothered. As long as the families I work with are happy that is good enough for me.
