Babysitter needed Bowness on Windermere 27th and/or 28th December evening - any ideas

We are going away to a lodge at Fallbarrow caravan site on those nights. Bowness is where DH and I had our first romantic mini break, sigghh, and would like to visit one of our favourite restaurants without DS as although we can just about manage an evening meal with him now he is 2.5, it would be nice to enjoy a meal at a more leisurely pace. DS sleeps well and never (touch wood) wakes up.

We aren't a member of Sitters and when I checked their website there doesn't appear to be many in that area so thought I would see if any Mumsnetters worked near here instead.

have you looked on the babysitter thread on here to see if anyone is local?

also try nannyjob they have a babysitters section

and www.findababysitter.com is free for parents to register at the moment

Thinking outside the box a bit... how about asking a local nursery if any of their staff would be able to babysit. For example, Thornleigh Day Nursery in Windermere provides a Doula Service, so their Doula may consider providing babysitting. Could be worth a try. Contact the owner: Carla - [email protected]
