cm club - help me write a job description!

As part of my EYPS I need tow rite a job desription, which is fine but i keep wanting to put 'nappy changer' or 'bum wiper'

anyone got one or got any ideas as how to start!

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

? To listen to parents as experts on their own children, to respect families? traditions and childcare practices and to follow parents wishes as closely as possible within the context of caring for children from several different families.

? To plan and provide activities and resources appropriate to each child?s age, stage of development and individual needs & interests.

? To provide a safe environment, both at the childminder?s property and on outings and to teach children safe practices and to hold a current First Aid Certificate.

? To maintain discipline and encourage positive behaviour.

? To be aware of the signs and symptoms which indicate the possibility of abuse and to be aware of the current procedure for reporting concerns.

? To provide a varied, nutritional menu with due regard to the dietary requirements of each child and current professional recommendations for children?s diets.

? To provide a healthy environment and to encourage children to make healthy choices.

? To liase with and, where necessary, to seek advice from professionals with due regard to confidentiality, including Preschool Leader, schoolteachers, Health Visitor.

? To adhere to the requirements set out by relevant authorities, including Ofsted, South Cambridgeshire District Council?s Environmental Health Department, Inland Revenue, the insurance provider(s), and the Fire Officer.

? To comply with legislation such as that covering with health and safety, food hygiene, fire or planning requirements and to keep appropriate records with due regard to confidentiality.

? To follow the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.

Job description - Childcare Practitioner

The Childcare Practitioner will be working alongside other Childcare Practitioners and Childcare Assistants to meet the daily needs of children of all ages within the childminding setting.

Responsible to: (Setting Manager).

Main Responsibilities

  1. To ensure a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for children placed within the setting.
  2. To give support to other Childcare Practitioners and Childcare Assistants within the setting.
  3. To implement children?s individual daily routines whilst considering the evolving larger routine within the setting.
  4. To maintain clean, tidy and visually pleasing environment within the setting.

Main Duties

  1. To provide stimulating activities for all children that are age and stage appropriate.
  2. Anticipating the needs of children and giving physical, emotional, intellectual support as appropriate.
  3. Liaise and support parents and other family members to achieve full integration within the setting.
  4. Liaise with the Local Authority and other professionals associated with the setting, to encourage linked up thinking and multi agency collaboration (clarification can be supplied).
  5. Attend team information sessions and individual briefing sessions which will coincide with the hours of work you are required to do and are weekly.
  6. Support all staff and participate in working towards being an effective and efficient team member.
  7. Undertake certain domestic jobs within the setting, e.g. preparation of breakfast, snack, lunch and dinner, as well as cleaning of equipment and areas.
  1. Organise resources and make imaginative use of these resources.
  2. Take part in relevant training that is essential within the job, e.g. child protection, food hygiene, first aid.
10. Work alongside the Manager and team to ensure that the ethos within the setting is fulfilled. 11. Adhering to policies and procedures of WC and compliance with the Children Act, Health and Safety Legislation and within the guidelines of Ofsted and National Standards. 12. Maintain confidentiality at all times. 13. Assist in recording and keeping developmental records and observations. 14. Any other duties appropriate to the post as directed by a lead practitioner.
