Morning ladies. Wednesday again. The weeks are just flying by at the moment. Im a bit fed up today.

I lost 2 of my mindees yesterday. Good old credit crunch laying people off. Thats 3 ive lost since summer. WTF im going to do I dont know. All the enquiries ive had recently were for 2 under 5's. Ive only got space for 1 . Hopefully things will pick up soon.

Hope you all have good days. Coffee, tea and bacon butties in the kitchen.

Hiya coolj, sorry to hear about your mindees leaving - seems to be happening a lot at the moment. Hope some lovely PP comes your way soon.

Do something nice today - give yourself an easy day (for me this means soft play session). I will bypass on the butty as my jeans are extremely tight this morning!

Thankyou all for your support yesterday, I have another appointment for DS to go to today so not working til 2pm again, SALT assessment this morning.

looneytune · 08/10/2008 09:26

coolj - sorry you're also suffering the credit crunch problems We've not got that problem in this area ATM but I do worry that we'll be hit at some point.

SammyK - Good luck for the appointment - did you pick up your prescription?

Just grabbing a cup of tea and bacon butty, thanks coolj, just what I need after not eating yesterday from throwing up all day! I spoke to parents and told them about the 24 hours closing due to me being sick and one was fine as not working at mo anyway and other 2 were fine but said if I WANT to work and feel ok then I can save the refund and they understand about the risk of germs. Anyway, with my baby waking up at 9.20 for half hour and then 1ish, 5ish and basically every half hour from 5am, I decided that I wasn't up to starting at 7.30 when still weak and so tired. Parent was FINE and I've told after schooler I'll have them as it's only a couple of hours and not til end of the day. So, I'm sat here in my pj's just chilling for now.

Have a good day everyone

NumberFour · 08/10/2008 09:52

started my day with a stubbed toe on a travel cot. it is Very Sore and has turned purple. i think i heard it crack when i stubbed it and i admit to shouting FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU etc when it happened.

sorry to hear you're losing kids, coolj. i had a bad patch a while ago too and it is really soul destroying.

eleanorsmum · 08/10/2008 13:15

southernbelle77 · 08/10/2008 13:27

Hi all,

Sorry to hear about losing mindees. I've been so very lucky and not had to worry about that but really feel for those that do.

We've had fun with handprint painting this morning! It was very messy, but we have lovely pictures! We've also been doing dancing and singing! And baby mindee (well not baby so much, 12 months old!) took first steps today! Not going to tell parents as I want them to see it for themselves, but it was really sweet!

All mindees sleeping now so am having a quick lunch before going out for the school run later.

tulip31 · 08/10/2008 13:52

Afternoon all, any cold bacon butties left??? Refreshes that coffee and checks the cupboards, fridge.....

Sorry to hear that some of you are having 'bad' times, and nice to hear that others aren't!

Got a couple of weeks off during the day at the mo, so spending time with my 2 little ones. Feel like I have a cold coming - pricklely throat and stuffed nose, so will dose myself up.

coolj · 08/10/2008 16:59

Hiya, I took your advice SammyK, I took my DS and mindee to an Aquarium, playpark, maritime museum for the day. Its a beautiful sunny day today.

Hope you are feeling a bit better today Looney. Theres nothing worse than being sick.

Hope your toe feels better soon NumberFour. Ouch.

Hi to everyone else.

Has anyone got any ideas why my mindee who is 21 months has suddenly gone off singing (well listening to me sing anyway) . He basically screams when I start singing (which to be honest I do it quite often without realising it). He used to love clapping his hands but now he has a major tantrum.

Any advise greatly appreciated before I have to gag myself.

Evening everyone.

Just finished so now have to think of what to have for tea.
It's been lovely and sunny here and I also got some washing dried outside .

EM - What buggy did you decicde on getting?

Hope you all have a restful evening, I'm off to find the paracetamol as have a thumping headache again.

looneytune · 08/10/2008 19:28

Thanks coolj, feeling MUCH better. I can't believe I had a 9 month old baby mindee aswell as my own 3 month old whilst throwing up - after the 4th time I called mum again and said I couldn't carry on and could she collect. Anyway, after my shower this morning and lots of fresh air, I'm a different person and all ready for opening tomorrow

EllieM - thanks but I've decided to save my pennies and keep with the sling for a bit longer and hopefully the older of the 3 little ones can start walking on the school run, I would just prefer her to have reins due to her age and the number of kids I have but respect the fact the parents don't like them.

MOrticiaAdams · 08/10/2008 19:33

Evening all. You lot seen this?

looneytune · 08/10/2008 19:36

Yes, and I filled it in earlier

MOrticiaAdams · 08/10/2008 19:40

I thought of Katy first, but your name was second!

looneytune · 08/10/2008 19:50

hehe but I don't want to go on the show, just put my thoughts about it all then after submitted realised the link was to something where they want people to talk to - oops!!

MOrticiaAdams · 08/10/2008 19:58

Doughnut! That's exactly why I didn't get involved!

KatyMac · 08/10/2008 20:05

I'd talk about how it is bad for minding - but I am not giving up

I am back minding & loving it - I have even had enquiries .....for next year

looneytune · 08/10/2008 20:08

Same here, not going to quit but sometimes I feel like it. I'm just finding it hard enough being back with my 3 month old and so it's not til around this time each night that kids are in bed and place cleaned ready for next day and then we start thinking about dinner. The last thing I then want to do is yet more paperwork! I love the actual minding but hate the paperwork tbh and that's what I said on the weblink.

Katy - so pleased for you, I really hope things start turning round for you again and you've put so much into it all. BTW, are you still opening a nursery?

KatyMac · 08/10/2008 20:09

No

Distinct lack of finance & children

looneytune · 08/10/2008 20:10

Sorry to hear that but i suppose with the credit crunch and all that, it's not a good time. Hopefully one day eh

KatyMac · 08/10/2008 20:20

Maybe

Now is not a god time to think - I am poorly & depressed (but at least I am realistic about my feeling)

looneytune · 08/10/2008 20:24

Yes. It's like I told my sister last night (very depressed and her kids are away for 2 weeks so all alone), she needs to take one day at a time and work on getting better before making any major plans she can't deal with right now.

Just get yourself better and look after yourself, what will be will be xx

PinkChick · 08/10/2008 20:30
