Can you help, please? I have a very good friend, whose husband is, suddenly, off to antarctica for five months.

She'd like a hand around tea/bath/bedtime with her six-month-old twins and getting out in the mornings. She is a fabulous person and is looking to share her home.

The day would be largely free - so, it needs to be someone pretty independent. We live in a small town and so, some Spanish is essential.

Why don't you try advertising at Universities in the Modern Languages department? I am sure there are some people around who have just graduated, not sure what to do and who know Spanish.

Thanks bran,

Had thought of that, and will get in touch with the ones I know. I was thinking of last minute placements but you're right, it'd be good for a recent graduate, who wants to spend more time in Spain.

Any ideas on where gap-year students look for work?

SHe should go ahead and put an ad up in places like Au Pair World, etc. You do have people looking for work all over Europe.

Love the name by the way.

Thanks, HTS. Will suggest doing that.

Does "The Lady" still exist and carry similar ads? Is there anywhere else she should look?

Almondbury agency has quite a lot of decent looking candidates. Can't remember the site, but google the name.
