I've registered as a child minder and done all the necessary, first aid, CRB etc I'm a qualified primary and SEN teacher so got plenty of experience but have only had one enquiry. Any advice on how and where to attract business? Any1 out there need a CM?

Befriend everyone locally. School and GP's secretaries, local shop keeper, etc. IME word of mouth best form of advertising and free!

LT's link is great too, whenever I have a vacancy I go through it all again.

Hope some nice children come your way soon.

I am looking for a childminder for 3kids, 1 6year old, 1 3 year old on waiting list for full time preschool, and an 11month old. To start 20th October!!! N1 area. Pick up from New North Community school. CAN YOU OR ANY OTHER CHILDMINDER ON HERE HELP?

THANKS

mumnosbest · 04/10/2008 16:25

Sorry,I would be able to help but only when your 3 year old is in full-time school, as I only have onc full-time place, the others are b4/after school and holidays. I'd also have to check school pick-up/ drop off times don't clash.

I am a newly qualified childminder. I have my quota of children. If you have your own kids a good place to advertise would be in the local schools. Also the Childrens Information Services. If there is a local Childrens Centre find out if you can adverist there. Word of mouth is the best way. I wanted to start in September and within a short time I got the amount of kids allowed under the age of 8.

All the best

Thanks MUM2BLESS, I'll try my ds school on Monday. Asked at the local children's centre but they don't post adverts there which I thought was a bit odd. CIS has my details so I'm hoping it's just a matter of time. Hope u r enjoying your new job and good luck with it
