Childminder with vacancies in Doncaster area

mumnosbest · 24/09/2008 10:57

I'm a mum of two (1 and 3) and a qualified primary & SEN-special educational needs teacher whose had a career change. I'm now a childminder and will have full-time and part-time vacancies in the next few weeks. If you are considering returning to work or need time to yourself, this could be the best mix of home and nursery setting. I work Mon-Fri, flexible times to suit. If you want more info or just some advice on your options please get in touch!

Sorry, I'm a cm myself so don't need anyone. Just curious what part you are from as I'm 'down south' now but was brought up in Tickhill which is outside of Doncaster and I miss it up there

mumnosbest · 23/10/2008 16:44

Ah Tickhill's lovely, can see why you'd miss it. I grew up in Bawtry so know it well. I live in Intake now (opposite the racecourse)

Oh Bawtry is lovely too, I miss the big market Whenever I drive from Lincoln (where my parents and nan are) to Doncaster, I go through Bawtry on route. I don't know Intake really as moved at 14 so couldn't drive about. I used to go to Edlington Comp so went there on the bus and into town but that was about it.

Anyway......someone must want a childminder in Doncaster!!! Anyone??!!!

clumber · 24/10/2008 10:55

Another alumni of Edlo Comp, waaaaaaaay before your time though Looneytune!

PS Hope you find some mindees soom Mumnosbest

mumnosbest · 24/10/2008 11:07

thanks clumber
looneytune: I miss the market too as it's not there anymore. Bawtry has sadly gone very 'upmarket', the old market place is now full of very pretty but very expensive boutiques, nice for window shopping but not the same as the market. I still go to Tickhill now and then, the kids love the duck pond and the pubs do nice Sunday Lunch. Intake's ok, close to doncaster centre but I do miss living in a village.

LOONEYsingingachristmasTUNEy · 31/12/2008 13:43

Bumping for benbear - oh, you are so lucky living in Tickhill, I LOVED it there and miss it a lot! I used to live on the Oval not far from the cricket field. Anyway, hopefully mumnosbest can help. If not, have you tried www.childcarelink.gov.uk?

thebumcleaner · 01/01/2009 21:07

Wow, I am thinking that I must know you then Looney as I used to live in Airedale Ave! My sister is still there on the Oval, and mum and dad are there too.

LOONEYsingingachristmasTUNEy · 02/01/2009 15:21

You may do then. I was born in 1976 and went to Estfeld so walked down Airdale Avenue every day. In fact, my older ds's godmother used to live on Airedale Ave, her parents still do! So, do we know each other???

thebumcleaner · 02/01/2009 15:45

Well, I am 1971 so probably at Edlo at the same time! I also went to Estfeld but only a couple of years, and then Edlo until 1987 when I moved away.
You probably know my sister and brother in law as they are part of the family that own Taylor's (as in Julie and Chris) and they are still on the Oval now.

LOONEYsingingachristmasTUNEy · 02/01/2009 16:35

Oh, I was only at Edlo for 1 year as I moved down to Reading. I remember Taylor's but was too young when we moved to remember who owned it.

We lived at 7 and 43 The Oval (was funny moving house round the corner! lol). My brother and sister are twins and were born in 1977 so 18 months younger. Anyway, small world

thebumcleaner · 02/01/2009 18:01

How weird as my sister is at number 9!

LOONEYsingingachristmasTUNEy · 02/01/2009 19:13

Spooky......I presume she wasn't there as a child though? Would be funny if I did know you or your family wouldn't it!

thebumcleaner · 06/01/2009 22:39

She was there from about 20 years ago I would think as I am sure that they only had their oldest daughter by then. Weird isn't it though lol.

thebumcleaner · 06/01/2009 22:40

And did you see that the Edlo school burnt down completely in the last couple of days? The new school (built on the sports ground at the back of the old school) is ready to open, and the firs started in H block, and spread to all 7 buildings!

mumnosbest · 10/01/2009 10:38

I saw the smoke from that fire. Must have been huge as you could see it from Bawtry Road.
Hi benbear! You still there? I'm sorry but I've filled my full time spaces now and only have before/after school vacancies. Have you tried childrens info services? I can give you the number

LOONEYsingingachristmasTUNEy · 10/01/2009 11:47

I saw on facebook about the fire, couldn't believe it when I saw all the pics! I used to be in 3H1 so pressume that's the block it started at (can't remember as was only there for about a year and it was a long time ago.
