EYFS - Early Literacy

After reading a few posts regarding the EYFS and the goals stating that by the time a child is aged 5 they should be able to write their own name etc. This is being reviewed as announced in my "Who Minds" magazine I received today.

Got mine already but no time to read yet. Suppose I would have time if I had not recently discovered Mumsnet..................

Government adviser, Sir Jim Rose has been asked to review statements made in the EYFS on literacy which follows from concerns that the the goals are too stretching. The report will come back in March 2009
