Nannies and sick children

Is it unreasonable to attend a work function tomorrow evening, leaving our child with our nanny, when our child has chickenpox? We'll be staying away so the nanny will be staying overnight. We have full confidence that she can cope.

She seems fine, it's been arranged for ages.

I'm just having a few guilt pangs.

Chickenpox in children is usually quite mild.

I would go - you can touch base regularly on the phone.

There's always something to feel guilty about where our children are concerned, isn't there?

Ive had children when they have been very ill before. As long as they have a good relationship and she isnt a new nanny then imo its fine if your happy.
