?

KatyMac · 01/08/2008 20:57

Well I don't want to talk about work now

But is that unfair?

OP posts:
MamaGLovesMe · 01/08/2008 21:00

No,

No one should answer the phone when they don't want to.

LoveMyGirls · 01/08/2008 21:03

No it's friday night unless answering it would make you feel better then why would you?

AvenaLife · 01/08/2008 21:06

it could be urgent.

KatyMac · 01/08/2008 21:08

Urgent?

No message, no text, no email

Not sure how a childminder would deal with urgent at 9pm on a Friday?

StealthPolarBear · 01/08/2008 21:08

I thought you meant in the morning and assumed you started at nine, so I thought you were being slightly unreasonable. This is Friday night and YANBU at all! Although I have to say nosiness curiosity would get the better of me!

Someone could be ill and they are trying to tell you??????

KatyMac · 01/08/2008 21:11

& what could I do?
Phone 999 for them?

OP posts:
AvenaLife · 01/08/2008 21:12

I don't know. Neither do you though. Maybe they are trying to notify you of an infectious disese? Or ruin your weekend?

KatyMac · 01/08/2008 21:14

Well they didn't leave a message - so I won't can't worry about it

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 01/08/2008 21:14

Katy could be out / in bed.
Unless she thinks it might be worth her while to take the call I think she should leave it. If it was urgent they would ahve left an answerphone message

missorinoco · 01/08/2008 21:15

Agree with stealth. Each time curiosity gets the better of me i regret it though.

Soapbox · 01/08/2008 21:17

If something had happened to a child cared by you, might they try and get in touch to let you know? If it was something bad, they might not want to leave a message.

Or it may be the lady who thought she didn't need childcare for Monday, phoning to let you know that she needs to go into work afterall?

Monkeytrousers · 01/08/2008 21:18

just to clarify, anything you don't do is passive and lazy

KatyMac · 01/08/2008 21:19

Cool

I'm Passive

I'm also lazy

& perhaps slightly drunk

I am having fun

KatyMac · 01/08/2008 21:26

I guess I should have answered & explained I don't take work calls on Friday evenings

OP posts:
LoveMyGirls · 01/08/2008 21:30

no you shouldnt dont worry, you worry too much.

AvenaLife · 01/08/2008 21:30

My friend's self employed, she used to give her clients her mobile phone number until one phoned her. At 3am! She doesn't give it out any more.

KatyMac · 01/08/2008 21:35

My Dad had a person apply for a job at 11.35 on a Sunday night

The chap didn't get the job

OP posts:
AvenaLife · 01/08/2008 21:36

Doh! I think that some people just loose sense of time.

saz73 · 01/08/2008 22:07

I saw someone tonight for childminding at 7.30pm and was here for over an hour and she signed contracts, paid deposit and month in advance. My vacancy was only advertised for less than 24 hours.

KatyMac · 01/08/2008 22:08

That would be different

Congratulations

I don't now what mine was but I got a voicemail later & it was heavy breathing

..from parent????

i frequently get texts9or ratherSUED too till i spoke to them( from a particular parents/s changing days/hours usually between 9.30 and 12am!!! the night before ..to change for the following day..after discussion with them, i now turn my phone off/do not answer messages at this time reg work(unless serious), its unreasonable, we're not a 24 hr service, makes me sad that some people think we're there waiting for them 24/7
