Money for garden...?

Hi. I am a cm. I have a beautiful garden (large but tiered) but not very child friendly. I have a very small patio area which has steep steps that lead to my lawn area. It means I can't have my back door open as I have to watch my minded children and escort them down the garden all the time. I desperatly want a decking area (closed off) so I am able to allow the children to go outside in a secured area. But wondered if I could claim this on my expenses. I would'nt be doing it otherwise. My own children are 6 and 9 so its not for their beneift. Hope this makes sense!
Any help would be greatly received.

I would call your local tax office, they are usually quite helpful.

You may have to prove your garden isn't suitable? Do you have it in writing maybe as terms of your registration certificate, or on your inspection report, as that would do I reckon. hth

When Ofsted visited earlier in the year, they asked my to add a gate at the bottom of the steps and a fence at the top of the patio - which I have done. But the patio is tiny and there is no where for the kids to play with trucks or bikes. I would love to have a secured area for them to go and have the freedom they want. I think I am going to go ahead and start getting quotes as to how much it will cost. But wondered if I could get help as this is beneficial to my business.

i did this and put 65% through on my books as the tax office said we as a family would be still using the garden and if we sold the house it would make it more sale a ble
