I remember seeing a cot with a toddler sleeping space underneath, which might suit my practice.

Does anyone
1 know what I am talking about
2 use one - are they any good
3 can you find me one to have a look at online, as I can't find any, probably because I am not using the right words in my google search.

Please ?

TIA

i like a challenge, and, while i have no idea what you are on about, I can imagine it, so have been googling various things and come up with nothing like it... sorry. only bunk campbeds

if you had a cotbed on the highest setting, would there not be enough space to put a mattress underneath? or have i got the wrong end of the stick?

BoysAreLikeDogs · 18/07/2008 18:28

I have seen a photo of it - a purpose-built wooden cot with a sleeping space with a mattress underneath it.

Thanks for having a go !

I've googled away and got nowhere, perhaps just look at all the expensive daycare nursery furniture makers?

eleanorsmum · 18/07/2008 18:46

i've seen them too, used by nurseries i believe! you are not going mad!

ClareVoiant · 18/07/2008 18:48

not what your after, but found this scroll down for cot on drawers

CarGirl · 18/07/2008 18:48

I've found bunk bed cots in the US!

ClareVoiant · 18/07/2008 18:49

maybe he could make you one

KaySamuels · 18/07/2008 18:53

They are always advertised in Who Minds magazine if that helps.

At an EYFS course I was on recently I was discussing sleeping spaces with some children's centre practitioners, they had decided to free up space by not having beds/mats for toddlers but letting them sleep "where they fell". Tempting? TBH I do this now anyway.

Under age of 6 months I have a travel cot set up upstairs, but rare I need it.

BoysAreLikeDogs · 18/07/2008 18:54

at your link, Claire (not the bloke, obv, but the work)

I know exactly what you are talking about! I saw one at the Hampshire Baby show.
I have searched online but haven't found one yet Only thing i came up with was a co-sleeper which is nothing like you are looking for!!

CarGirl · 18/07/2008 19:48

when you remember let me know because it's bugging me now as well!

maidamess · 18/07/2008 19:50

Talking about RP

I am keeping a record of my rp

It has 4 columns
What is the problem/situation
How can I resolve it
sign & date it has been changed
Amendments - for when the fix doesn't work

I think it will be really useful for Inspections as it is documentary evidence of how you have changed/improved

BoysAreLikeDogs · 18/07/2008 20:37

shanticot

Found it, thank you Kay was in Who Minds.

I knew I'd seen'em and was not not Going Mad

Katy - yes, I am thinking about creating something like that, would be really useful when SWOTting

OP posts:
KatyMac · 18/07/2008 20:41

SWOTing???

BoysAreLikeDogs · 18/07/2008 20:42

SWOT analysis (get me) where you look at your practice and work out

Strengths
Weaknesses
Opportunities
Threats

It's a technique that I bet you do without realising

Get you

Did it on my course - i just didn't connect it to RP

BoysAreLikeDogs · 18/07/2008 20:45

God, yes, connect it to RP, OFSTED will like it

I saw it at the NCMA conference in Torquay, I will find the details. Horribly expensive, they didn't sell any!

alibubbles · 18/07/2008 21:48

Sorry, shssould read the whole thread!
