CM CLUB - Question about building work taking place on property.....................

Just a quicky before I take my tiny little man to childminder drop in....

Whilst I'm on maternity leave, we're planning on having the wall knocked down between our kitchen and dining room to make it one big kitchen/diner instead. Building work will be finished by the time I start back at work in September so I don't need to worry about safety of mindees etc. whilst this is taking place.

Do I still need to inform Ofsted/ask their persmission or anything? I seem to remember something about 'changing structure of the house' but I can't remember what the rules are etc. I know I could look it up but with time so precious right now, thought I'd see what the clever MN childminders knew to save a bit of time .

TIA

Yes write to OFSTED and tell them the changes plus give them a risk assessment for the new room

looneytune · 08/07/2008 12:44

Just like you would for in Sept (when you need to be doing written risk assessments)

I'll send you mine but there are easier ones out there (if you want me to send to you - send me an email to remind me)
