Morning,
We had the rain all night to, but sunny at the moment. DD is supposed to be going to the beach after school with the brownies, will they make it?

Why have school got an inset day so close to the end of term!! they should have put that on the last day.

MaureenMLove · 03/07/2008 07:39

Hello! I peaked too early and I'm ready to go already! Inset day? Enjoy. Alhough, do think of me this morning as I try to keep 25 yr 9's under control! The teacher has already suggested that I don't even allow 3 students into the classroom! Not a chance! I'll give it a go first, these kids smell fear on a teacher and they'll never be happy with me, if I just send them out. If it doesn't work, then cry and run out of the classroom!

mumlove · 03/07/2008 07:42

Goodluck Mo

When I see inset day wrote I always have to look twice as I read it as Insect day! Glad DD school still write 'staff training day'.

Shoshe · 03/07/2008 07:42

I think it was to have the long weekend as kids getting very tired, we had easter hols at easter, so had a 3 1/2 week half term then a 7 week half term!! so knackered kids.

Mo you will have to give them them ' THE LOOK'

Sounds like you are loving it tho.

morning all. am feeling a little better today, sleep always helps! have got to take dd to have more insoles made for her shoes today with two lo's in tow! then she has another visit to her new school this pm so one mindee is going home and the other is being looked after for me with parents consent!

Shoshe - lets hope you can get out with your brood today!

mumlove - hope the sun shines for the trip to the beach, but i'm sure they'll have fun even if it rains. i have fond memories of building sandcatles in wellies!

mo - my hubby says year 9's are trouble. you go get them girl! def agree with letting them all then sending out misbeahviours!

MaureenMLove · 03/07/2008 07:45

I still call it a Baker day!

Yeah, its great. Wish I could get in here a bit more, but I do lurk around and see what you're all up to!

LoveMyGirls · 03/07/2008 07:52

Hi everyone,

Shoshe - whats it like having 7? I've got 7 some days during the hols and though i've done a plan and the little ones are all in a good routine it still sounds a little bit daunting, 4 older ones has got to be easier than 3 older ones though right? Wish I had an 8 seater car so I could take them out, we're going to walk to the park and I might see if my mum or another childminder can drive my dd's so we can go over to a big park or something.

Still not sure if I should write to OFSTED now or wait, what do you all think? (see my wwyd thread)

southernbelle77 · 03/07/2008 07:55

Morning! Well it's bloomin raining hard already here. It looked so bright this morning, but that didn't last long!

Everyone seems perky(ish!) this morning which is nice to see. Glad you are feeling a bit better this morning EM. And of course, nice to see you Mo! You go tell them year 9's whats for!!

DD and 2 mindees today. Going to drop in this morning then back for lunch before taking dd back to preschool. Then mindees should both have a sleep this afternoon and I need to try and catch up on MN some paperwork!

Shoshe · 03/07/2008 09:03

LMG's 7 is LOUD if indoors

To be honest its fine, if we go out it is set rules, all have my ID on them and nobody goes out of sight, or they go on reins, I dont care if they are 9! (actually the threat is enough )

It would be fine if you Mum took DD's, sometimes in the holidays I take London11's extras, or she takes mine, with parents permission of course.

only one "sleeping" this morning. playroom is an abs tip. dont know where to start. still b4 and after schoolies finish in 2 weeks and i can start to reorganise it. just under 5s from aug 1st. cant wait. dark and rain looming here.

MaureenMLove · 03/07/2008 12:02

Over here! He he! I sneaked out early! (very early, in fact!) Didn't have any lessons to cover, as most of yr8 are out, yr 11 have already left, so there was no cover needed, anywhere! I couldn't be bothered to sit twiddling my thumbs in the staff room there, so I've come home to twiddle my thumbs in the staff room here!

mumlove · 03/07/2008 13:15

Afternoon, both mindees are sleeping and 1 didn't even arrive before I needed to leave for toddlers, got home to a message on answerphone that they had overslept and were not comming.
The sun is still out here, but for how long who knows?
Mo you can share the coffee and cakes with me. Put your feet up and rest.

Shoshe · 03/07/2008 14:19

I have another lady coming for a visit this afternoon, I have two spaces come Jan, one went yesterday and hopefully the other this afternoon, although not to worried if not, cos another lady had phoned as well! Talk about like buses.

OHHHH, I have just passed out my name is on MN front page, I have won some Hannah Montana goodies. DD will be so pleased I don't win anything.

MaureenMLove · 03/07/2008 14:47

WOW! ML, thats excellent. That takes the prize winning Staff Room to 3 this year, so far! Not bad odds, me thinks! I won the holiday, BoysAreLikeDogs won the Camcorder and now you've won the Hannah Montana goodies. Enjoy!

southernbelle77 · 03/07/2008 15:20

oh my goodness! Some parents are too nice! I have just been paid double what I am owed this month to show appreciation for how flexible I have been etc! It's not even been a problem for me to be flexible! I really appreciate it, it is so nice!

Well done ml on winning a competition!

Good luck with the visit shoshe! Sounds like me, had loads of work lately but before that it was dead quiet for ages!

MaureenMLove · 03/07/2008 15:38

Another peice of good news in the staff room SB, eh? How nice are your parents? That's a testament to how much they appreciate you and you should feel very proud! (Either that or they're keeping you sweet for when they start mucking you around!)

mumlove · 03/07/2008 15:47

Belle - thats great, but also thinking what do the parents wants!

One set of my parents I have asked for £1 each child (siblings) for and ice cream when we go on an outing but they have always given me £10 and told me to buy myself and DD 1, but £5 is always more than enough and they will not take back the change.

southernbelle77 · 03/07/2008 17:54

Lol ML! With most parents I would probably be thinking that, but this particular one is genuinely just a lovely person who appreciates having someone to help out! And the mindees couldn't be any better behaved if they tried, so I am doing well on all accounts with these ones!

Day finished! All mindees gone home so just dd to get to bed! DH flight back from Scotland is delayed so not sure I'll get on my treadmil tonight but I really want to. It is in the garage - if I put the baby monitor in the garage with me, do you think it is safe to go and do it while dd is in bed or is that a really silly idea??

Tomorrow we are making cakes for a fair on Sunday. Only have dd and baby mindee so seemed like a good idea!

Shoshe · 03/07/2008 19:57

Well that looks like both my spaces gone, and I didnt even advertise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
