EYFS - Is everything you have been taught now wrong?

The government have gone some way towards addressing the criticisms of the EYFS with the announcements they have made today.

Look closely at paragraph 3 of the editor's notes at the bottom and you will see "The only statutory requirement to write anything down is that a single document, the Early Years Foundation Stage Profile, must be completed in the year the child turns five, and submitted to the local authority. This is not an onerous document, and for the vast majority of children will be completed by teachers in school reception classes".

So, is everything you are being told about recording and identifying the part of the learning goals something relates to right or wrong? Or is this classic government doublespeak?
