We've tried sitters.co.uk and they are all booked -- any other ones we can trust? We're in South West London

Agencies I can think of are:
Abtot and Safehands.

Alternatively, perhaps look at nannies (aim for Ofsted Registered nannies, as they will have recent CRB check and some kind of training plus insurance) offering babysitting over at NannyJob.

With any of these options, the person doing the babysitting will be unknown to you, and unknown to your children. Personally I don't do last minute work like that - I meet families prior to agreeing to babysit - but you may find other childcare workers who aren't as fussy as I am.

Is there a Tinies covering your area?

What about asking a school mum/friend explain that the babysitter has let you down at the last minute, or are there no teenagers that you know that would like to earn a but of money for the evening.

So did you find anyone mumofjames, or did you have a quite night at home?

nothing worse than a cancellation at the last minute, I babysit sometimes and wouldn't cancel unless the sky fell down, we parents need our nights out!
