EYFS Briefing Session. What a waste of bloody time!

Its Friday night and I have just got back from a 3hr EYFS briefing session.
The first two hours were spent going over what I and I'm sure most other childminders have alredy been doing since registration. How to make the house inviting, communicating with parents etc etc. Then the last hour was spent with the tutor showing how to look certain sections up in the EYFS book. As if at the age of 40 I dont know how to look up an index!

With all the new observation and assesment coming in, in september, would you not think the session would have been better spent going through all the new stuff we dont know about instead of 3 bloody hours going through stuff we do know.
AAARRRHHH How patronising, do they seriously think we are that thick.
Sorry, just had to get that off my chest.

It keeps them in jobs, Tas. You have my sympathy, I'm not a CM but a nursery owner.

I get sick of various 'job titles' wanting to spend a whole morning in the nursery for what could be covered in an email or, at most, ten minute conversation.

I'll join you in an AAAAAAArgh.

Same here I went on two who Saturday courses and a lot of the stuff was gone over again and again and I'm none the wiser.

Don't know how I'm gonna get on in Sept.

I recently had an Ofsted inspection and they said basically the main changes are observations and planning. Everything else much the same as birth to 3.
