Ofsted and Home Approval schemes - for nannies?

Can anyone tell me how these are applied to nannies?

i understand both ofsted and home approval for nurseries and child minders

but I'm trying to get my head around how they can be applied to nannies?

Can you be more specific? Is there some particular part that is causing confusion?

Nannies can now choose to fall under the Ofsted Childcare Register. Ofsted can inspect nannies, but don't have power of entry to the property (to my knowledge) so need to obtain consent from the parents first. So it is an Announced Inspection, rather than unannounced. At least that is how I understand it.
