Q about Ofsted registration for nannies

I've filled in the online registration form (over 4 weeks ago) and have been waiting for the paperwork to come through. I know that I will get forms to fill in that I take to the post office for CRB etc.

So far all I've had through is the invoice for payment. Do I pay this and then get the rest of the forms or are the forms on the way (or lost) and you do them together?

Anybody know?

I applied (online) to Ofsted on 1st August 2007 for nanny registration. Forms arrived and were sent back, and my registration certificate came through 17 September - so took under 7 weeks.

I don't recall when I paid the fee, my gut feeling is that I paid the fee at the post office, along with getting them to verify the form (they had no clue how to do that, so quite a learning curve for the small post office in my village). That was 2007 though, Ofsted may well have changed procedures.

If I were you, I'd call the Ofsted helpline and see if they can tell you want the current procedure is. I expect you would pay the invoice (by the quickest method possible - may be phoning though debit card details or paying on-line if that is an option), then wait a week, if no forms have arrived, contact Ofsted helpline again and ask them to chase the application.
