Where on earth are you all?? Am I the only one about today?!

Have had a busy morning and beginning of the afternoon, but have 5 minutes to come on and say hello, but there is noone to say hello to!

Lovely weather today so hope you are all enjoying it while it lasts!

Hi SB77 Im here (hope I will do). Mindees gone for the day so just chilling out with my own kids. My 2yo is obsessed with the National Geo channels. Im sure he should be interested in cartoons, not bugs etc!! Still he could be a David Bellamy in the making eh

MaureenMLove · 23/06/2008 15:58

God grief! I came in from work today, to have a chat with the CM's for half an hour and there's only 2 of you in, all day!

Clearly all working hard and no time to MN. I have been lurking just to see how you all are. So sorry to read your news SB. How you feeling?

Hello cooolj. I think you arrived in the Staff room, just as I left! I hope they are playing nice with you. Have you taken full advantage of the secret filing cabinet, with the booze in, that I left behind?

I'm off to do Rainbows in a minute, but if anyone else arrives in the meantime, do drop in to my other 'home' (the bar) for a chat later!

Laters girls!

southernbelle77 · 23/06/2008 16:11

You in the bar Mo?? Well I never

I'm ok thank you Mo. It was horrible to happen again and so much worse this time, but we are moving on now and going forward. We have a wonderful dd who is keeping us occupied! It's her birthday today and we have had such a busy weekend with it all! She's been a very lucky little girl!

How are things going with you? regretting your decision to give up a life of chaos in your own home yet?!!

Hi coolj. Bless your ds being into national geo channels! I'm sure that is probably better than some of the awful things I have to watch

Weve just watched a programme all about two scientists getting stung by all sorts of creatures to find out pain thresholds. Absolute nutters. I was cringing but my DS was facinated and said programme was great. He was sat watching it with an animal encyclopedia on his lap, pointing out all sorts of creatures. He is obsessed. He just loves creatures great and small. At the moment we have a tank full of tadpoles/frogs and he wants to hold them all the time. Bless

No way SB! I love my new life/job! My house is even more chaos than ever though atm. New kitchen in progress! Its nice that I didn't have to tell Ofsted about it and clear away all the tools every morning though!

I don't know if you know, but I had two m/c's too. In fact they were ectopics, so not only did I loose two, I have no hope at all now. You're right though, you do have to look on the positive side of things, although you have every right to grieve and feel very sad and you should. Don't shut it out completely, its not good for you. There's no reason to think that you can't go full term. You're still young and you've done it once and you'll do it again, when you feel up to it. Take care.

mumlove · 23/06/2008 19:39

Evening to you all.

Had another busy day of enjoying the sun and walking everywhere, it's swallows up time and I can't find enough of it to fit every thing in!!!!
Need to use the car tomorrow and wednesday morning as preschool to far to walk to .

Hope you all have a lovely evening and enjoy yourselves tomorrow.

PinkChick · 23/06/2008 20:23

Hi GUys..Hey MO...SNAP!...our kitchen is being torn apart too!...started this morn, found out that whoel house could have gone up at any point as we'd had gass leak (since before we moved in from old gas pipe!) and all electric cables were running diaganol, not vertical!!..so double major prob!..thank god for our flood!....

ive not told ofsted...as ive got the breakfast room kitted out as mini kitchen (no kettle or oven) and kitchen door is taped up...ifrst day today, all the dirty work(all plaster/tiles units out) and only a bit of dust got through which has now all been hoovered up, so didnt think id need too?...anyway, off to wash dust off me now..should have ahd dp hoover me first.byee

MaureenMLove · 23/06/2008 20:35

No, I don't think you need to worry, if everything is totally shut away.

Mines going to take weeks! I have to wait for various friends to do it in between jobs! Range cooker is going in tomorrow, so that's a start. In fact, I'll have 2 cookers to cook with! One is sited in new extension and one in old kitchen. That bits not being ripped out until the beginng of the summer hols.

KatyMac · 23/06/2008 20:37

Sorry I've not been around

I'm feeling very down and demotivated atm (quite weepy too) - the state I was in when I realised the bread make died

MaureenMLove · 23/06/2008 20:49

What's up Katy? Wanna talk?

KatyMac · 23/06/2008 20:51

No children - no money
No cooker no breadmaker (broken breadmaker possibly the end of the world)
No direction in life
My hands and feet are all swollen
I'm supposed to be on a course on Saturday and also simultaneously helping run a fun day
Nana died (think this is the one that matters)

MaureenMLove · 23/06/2008 20:55

Aw bless you. Sorry about your Nana. Can you put off the course on Saturday? Its sounds like you need some time out love.

KatyMac · 23/06/2008 21:02

I think the fun day will have to go - the course looks fab

MaureenMLove · 23/06/2008 21:07

What's the course on?

KatyMac · 23/06/2008 21:07

It's for Forest Schools (only a level 1)

MaureenMLove · 23/06/2008 21:09

oh spooky! How did you know in 1 second, I was going to ask that? You're goooood!

KatyMac · 23/06/2008 21:11

I just realised you would want to know

SimpleAsABC · 23/06/2008 21:25

Hi Katy, read a lot of replies and posts you've put up. Not a lurker entirely as I do post occasionally!

Anyway, just wanted to let know you that my thoughts are with you. Chin up! From personal exp I know that is soo much easier than it sounds.

KatyMac · 23/06/2008 21:36

Aw - that's very nice of you

vInTaGeVioLeT · 23/06/2008 21:45

i've not been around much lately and when i have there's been no staff room

katymac - why no children?

mo - hi glad the job is good

KatyMac · 23/06/2008 21:49

No idea

TBH we never really picked up from when a member of staff left & took 3 with her plus it's the summer & we have been traditionally low then

I'm advertising like crazy but getting no-where

MaureenMLove · 23/06/2008 21:51

Hello Vi! Terrible isn't it. The place has fallen apart without me! That and the fact that at least 2 of you are on mat leave!

I'm going to open up tomorrow, before go to work!

nannynick · 23/06/2008 22:35

Katymac, hope things get better. Deal with family bereavement, you may find that it gets better once there has been closure (i.e. funeral).
You seemed so positive about things when I met you not all that long ago. Think positive thoughts - it can help. "Positive Mental Attitude" as I recall being told frequently on sales training courses I used to go on, in my former before childcare life.

I'm finding that I'm counting the days at the moment... as I change job in two weeks (still nannying, but for another family).

KatyMac · 23/06/2008 22:36

Good luck with the new job Nick - you'll be fine

Thanks - I guess so
