I wrote a little while ago regarding adding to my training, a few of you very kindly gave me a few ideas and websites.

I have contacted CIS, NCMA, ASK, KCC etc

I have managed to get onto a child protection course, but thats it!

No one seems to have any training courses on the go at the moment and do not have dates for up coming courses. I feel as though I have hit a brick wall.

Is it just me or do other CM's have trouble getting onto training courses.

Please help!

Just managed to get on a Fire Safety course at late notice.
Seems to me that training course lists are prouced in July for courses starting Sept. So keep in touch with your local authority training officer, so you get sent the list once it is published.
CAF course can often be done online. One local authority has Safe Guarding Children as an online e-learning course.

In my area all childcare settings are sent a trainng directory regularly with every childcare related course in it - it is fab.

I would keep on trying - they must be around somewhere!

I will list a few for you off top of my head: fist aid, basic food hygiene, business basics, Ealy YearsFoundation Stage, ICP.

Ask around anywhere you can think of, do you have a children's centre local? Or a scrapstore or cm network? These all usually have workshops and training available and can be realy helpful. Also try the local college. HTH
