I reconfirmed the extra 15 hours for my daughter on the 12 of December and everything was successful and my next reconfirm date is 8th of April. Today I’ve received an email from the school saying my code expired yesterday and i have to provide an updated code. Everything is good on my side and the same code Is on my account as before. I’m confused as to why it didn’t go through on their side. I’ve emailed them the same code and sent them my ni number so they can try and enter it again.

any advice?

Hi is this for 15 hours 2yr additional funding or the universal 3 yr (which you won’t need a code for, at least in our LA). Or are you entitled to 30h working family? As long as it’s a term after your child turned 3 etc, it should be ok…
e.g. if they were born December, the code would be valid from January. You have reconfirmed before the cut off at the end of December. I would ask the school for the number of your EYEE team who should be able to help.

Hi, it’s for the 3 year old extra 15 hours funding. My daughter is 4. I’m confused as to why it’s expired on their side when it’s all good on my side.

It may be differences in local authority, but in ours if they are over 3 as your daughter is, they’re automatically entitled to the 15 hours universal free childcare. They don’t even need a code. The nursery should just need to get you to sign the EYEE form and then add them on to the portal.
The only situation where they need a code is if you are using the 30 hours working family funding.
Search for your local authority with “EYEE” and it should hopefully give you a contact number.

its the 30 hours finding. I reconfirmed on the 12th of December and it was successful but the nursery have said my code expired yesterday. On my account my next reconfirmation date is in April. I’m so confused. I’m going to ring up the childcare devices tomorrow to see if they can see anything on their side.

This doesn’t make sense to me either… if it is showing as valid your end, I’d have thought there is an issue with the Nursery e.g. entering a digit incorrectly. You have renewed it in plenty of time before the cut off date. Hope you have some luck tomorrow and they can resolve the issue. 🤞

Nursery admin here. Sometimes it takes a while for the code to update at our end, no idea why, as others update immediately. You will have a grace period for about 3 months after the expiry date that'll cover the 30 hours until it updates itself, ask nursery when this ends. If it doesn't update shortly, you'll have to phone the childcare helpline to get them to sort it out.
