I need to give my CM of 2 years notice as my contracted hours at work have been slashed and I won't be able to claim childcare on WFTC as its not enough hours...so am starting an evening job in 4 weeks time (so no childcare needed)...feel bad though about my CM as my three make up bulk of her mindees, need to give her notice this week but don't now how to approach it (pathetic I know!)any suggestions as I also need to do a formal written notice too..

Please don't feel bad PLM,

When a childminder takes on 3 children from the same family, we realise there is a chance that they may leave suddenly and we will lose a substantial part of our income but that is a risk she took when she took you on.

Childminders are getting scarcer by the day so hopefully she will not have too much difficulty replacing at least two of them

What a lovely thoughtful parent you are to care so much - it won't be nearly as bad as you had anticipated - promise

I would tell her in person and have a letter ready with all the formal stuff on it.

Just be honest, she will understand, but do it ASAP so she can get right onto filling the spaces.
