Me and my partner are both currently full time employed and receive 30 free hours of childcare a week do our 1 year old. I am going to be made redundant next month and plan on having some time off but will be claiming cares allowance as I care for my grandad. Will I still be eligible for the 30 free hours?

If you’re not currently working
You may still be eligible if your partner is working, and you are on carer’s leave or if you get any of the following:

  • Incapacity Benefit
  • Severe Disablement Allowance
  • Carer’s Allowance
  • Limited Capability for Work Benefit
  • contribution-based Employment and Support Allowance

Yes you will, my husband works full time and I receive Carer's Allowance and our son attends 30 hours. There's an option to tick that when you renew 😊
