childminders- does anyone have business cards?

I was wondering about getting some business cards to try and advertise my childminding service.
I already have posters up in local shops and my car but wondered whether cards would be useful for handing out at toddler group etc.

Does anyone use business cards at all, worried I'll just be left wit loads of unused cards!!

Many thanks

Yes I've got some and left them around the place and handed them out. They are most useful when parents approach you and you've not got a pen to give them your details.

But as far as I know no-one has actually rung up having seen my card - I get all my business through word of mouth or the childcarelink website.

I have business cards too. I got mine from vistaprint and they were free! As far as I remember, you get 500 free business cards from them! I do have a lot of unused ones, but then 500 is a lot!

I am the same as GTG, they are useful to give to people . You could leave them at local preschools, toddler groups, schools etc although all my work has come back word of mouth of the CIS.

I get them from Vistaprint too. Just be wary of the last page, after you place your order it looks like you need to click to confirm your order. But if you read it carefully you'll see your order has already been placed and its asking you to join a club with a monthly fee.

Handy to keep a few in your bag/pocket for when people approach you in the playground, toddlers etc. Also good idea to give a bunch to your friends, neighbours and relatives as well as at school office etc, estate agents etc. Parents will respond more positively on receiving a card through someone who knows and trusts the childminder than from seeing a paid ad in yellow pages, shop window etc.
