2 children under 1 for about 6 weeks until one of them turns one? I have had a variation before, this time last year infact but I habent had to ask for one since and just wondered if people are getting them agreed or not I know it is a bit of a lottery!!! I still have my variation letter from last year that I will adapt to use, and also can I email it or does it have to be snail mail?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I recently got a variation, I wrote to OFsted and got reply in about 2 weeks.

Was to accomodate new baby sister for existing mindee, already have a pair of siblings, who are moving on in August. So the variation is for two months.

I don't know what your first letter said, but it's a good idea to include details of the ages and hours of all the children you would be caring for so they can see the full picture. It may make a difference if you would only have 2 under 1's together for a few hours a couple of days a week, and not that many other older kids at the same time, rather than the total 5 under 8's all full time while you have the two little ones with you.

Also a good old risk assessment never did anyone any harm! You could mention whether you have appropriate equipment for 2 under 1's at once eg. 2 cots, 2 baby car seats, and how you would ensure you could safely look after both at once.

It is only gonna be for 1 day a week and at present I dont have any others at all on that day, should have added that bit too, thanks for the advice

You will need the childrens dates of birth, ages, names, hours all set out in a time table of hourly slots. I am sure I did some more things but will get back to you if I remember.

Oh and yes email them with a date that the parents need to know by and a scanned signature attached.

Good luck.
