was wondering if you get a lot of work through your website. Been thinking about one for a while. Thanks

I'd say that these days all my work comes via my website. But I am different to a Childminder and my marketing is designed to direct parents to my website.
If your CIS will put a link on your ChildcareLink entry, to your website - then it is certainly worth having a website, even just a small one with a couple of pages, brochure to download.

As a childminder I've only had one contract from my website. Get far more emails from other childminders or people thinking about childminding than from prospective parents.

But parents who found me from other sources have had a look at my website and I get a lot of compliments. So it has helped by contributing to the overall image I suppose.

alya - that's interesting. The parents who found you from other sources, did they: find your details somewhere, then look at your website, then contact you? If so, then your website helped pre-sell them... it worked in getting them to contact you - which is a step towards the goal. Goal = you caring for their child.

Do you have your website URL listed in your ChildcareLink entry?
