Hi I know you have been on here in the past asking about your website, I was just wondering if you have any testimonials from parents on there and if so do you have to ask for permission to put them on?
I am a cm but also run a mobile creche for weddings etc. I always receive lovely letters from the parents when they pay me after wedding to say how happy they are with my service, can I add them to my website or do I have to ask first? TIA

When I ask for a reference I say that it may be used on my website. I don't specifically ask. I don't include their contact details on the website.
If a parent were to object, I would remove their testimonial - yet to happen.

I've only put extracts from letters & questionnaires on my website - no names or contact details etc. Parents can view the original letters when they come for interview.

I give parents a questionnaire when they leave me and they have the option whether or not to include their contact details on the form. I only give out contact details of parents who have returned a questionnaire agreeing to this and I have given my assurance that I will only give out contact details to parents enquiring about my childminding service.

I have written permission from some parents to include photos on my website too but again, I would not include any names or details of the families. I would certainly remove any photo or comment if a parent asked.

When i am given a ref from a family, i ask them if i can put a snippet onto my website as a testimonial.

No one has said no yet

I have references scanned into my childminding website with parent details blocked out. Also have snippets on my website business website which never had permission for bit they are just snippets.
