Afternoon will be lunch/naps and then free play before dinner and then I'm done with the 2 x 1 yr olds til Sept . Just next week left but at least those 2 very hard days will be better as mindee 1 stopping a week earlier

What you up to? Miserable here today too Hope it's dry later so we can play in the garden!

Good morning! Weather is looking ok at the moment. No sun, but no rain and sky is white so hoping it will be ok! Mindee and dd currently chasing each other and scaring each other! they are having fun apparently!! Other mindee coming in an hour or so. Then have one of dd's friends and his mum (my friend!) and baby sister coming so it will be a houseful!

Contracts all done for new baby mindee starting tomorrow! Settling in went ok although mum was here so hopefully it will go ok tomorrow! It was really nice when they came. They were so pleased I was able to do it, especially at such short notice as they had not bothered looking for any other childminders as they knew they wanted me (first saw them a few months ago) and didn't know what they would have done if I'd been full! What a nice compliment to me I thought!

Glad your busy days are nearly behind you LT! Won't be long before you will certainly have very busy days again!

Hope the weather improves for you Shoshe!

We've had a lovely day today, 16 children and 3 minders went on a trip to a country park, we decided not to take picnics as the weather looked very miserable when we left but by the time we arrived we had glorious sunshine oh how we kicked ourselves. home intime for quick lunch before three mindees went home leaving 3 DDs and a very tired 3 yr old!

Shoshe · 29/05/2008 17:37

We stayed in this morning then London11 and I and one of my mums went to Honeybrook Farm

It was brill, brought home some very tired and absolutly filthy children (they had honeycomd, God that stuff is sticky, wipes just do not get it off

Got home and Parents arrived!

Knackered now and gonna collaspe and eat the dinner DH has cooked.

Mindees gone home so me and dd are sat watching tv chilling out while her dinner cooks!

I feel exhausted. We did have a good day, although I ended up having an arguement with a really good friend who came over with her dc's. We never argue and it was only a misunderstanding, but I still feel quite upset about it. Her dc decided that as I turned off the tv for lunch (of which they were warned would happen) he would totally kick off and have a MAJOR tantrum. In turn, him screaming made one of my mindees get very upset as mindee really does not like crying. So, I go up to her dc and say (very calmly) that him screaming was causing mindee to cry as he didn't like it. Friend (very soft) says he should stop and come eat but he totally ignores her and continues. I go to walk him into other room just to get him away from poor upset mindee. Friend then has a major go at me saying I have no right to discipine him (of which I wasn't anyway)and snaps. I just had to walk away as I could feel myself boiling over. Went to kitchen to get away from it and can hear nothing has changed. Mindee still very upset so I go get them and go back into kitchen where I start blubbing!! (pregnancy hormones don't help!) Have to stay in there for quite a while as just so annoyed! Anyway, friend comes in and says something or other (don't really hear as annoyed!) and tell her to forget it. Anyway, the be all and end all is she thought I was taking her dc to the 'naughty step' and got annoyed but I wasn't and didn't think she needed to snap at me! God I'm still annoyed now even though she says it's all fine and I was the one that apologised.
anyway, rant over, sorry!!!

PinkChick · 29/05/2008 20:10

couldnt she have asked 'where' you were takning him?, i would have thought it obvious as youd said lucnh was ready you were taking him to eat??

Shame it turned out like that

We had a nice day today, even mum of older mindee said to me tonight 'no cabin fever today then'?..nope, walked the legs of them all day..walked to nice library to find it closes thursdays, walked to my mums(kids love her apartment)..she was out..walked into village bought some yummy home made flapjacks and sat outside to eat..had massive 'words' with horrible old biddy in card shop..we'd gone in to get dp a fathers day card, ddd needed the loo..i can see a door behind them with toilet sign on, ask if she wouldnt mind my dd using it..she says to the other woman in stroppy tone "do we have a toilet SHE can use"..woman says no, go to community centre(good ten minutes walk up road)..so isay no its not for me its for my daughter shes desperate..horrible old witch says, like i said the community centre have a public toilet!!!!..i tell her i think her attitude and manner are pathetic and she should be ashamed of herself!, she replied well its NOT a public toilet!, so i said No, but a child needing to go is different to an adult, its human nature and hope your grandchildren never need to go and encounter and horrible old jobssworth like you..and left the shop..managed to get to aprk toilets(clsoer than centre) by then id calmed down and we had lovely time playing in sand, on play area, had picnic, bought slush puppies as treats on way home then played in garden till home time!..so nice overall..although now dd keeps saying everything is "pathetic"..so have had to explain thats a word adults use when their cross and doesnt sound nice coming from children!
