Hi, I’m due my first inspection soon and I’m seriously panicking! I have no idea what say when asked about my curriculum basically we go to playgroups Tuesday Wednesday and on Fridays we go to forest school Monday we go on a trip or walk and Thursdays we stay in everyday we do arts and crafts in the afternoon and we do child led play around naps lunch and snacks. What on earth do I say about my curriculum I feel so nervous! I love the children I have and believe I look after them and support their learning well but how do I get that across. Everyone says to me just know your children well but in what respect? I know their favourite colours and foods I know what they can and can’t do I know if they’re a little behind for their age and how I want to support them is that enough?

Your curriculum is just what you want your children to learn while they're with you - what skills do they need to be ready for school for example.
Do you want them to learn to speak, enjoy stories, use cutlery and pencils, go to the toilet independently.
You can use a document like Development Matters to base your curriculum on.

Knowing your children is about knowing where they are developmentally - did you collect information from their parents when they started about what they could do then? What can they do now? What do you want them to do next?

Don't overthink it!
