Morning all!

Crossants and fruit juice all round?

Waiting on one mindee (as usual) and then the other coming at 9.30ish. We are then off to drop in before rushing back for mindee 1 to be picked up and dd off to preschool! Weather is looking lovely.

have written my notice letter. Thanks Pinkchick for your words, that was great. Feel a bit bad as am also giving an invoice at the same time!!

Goodness, where are you all?! At this rate I will have scoffed eaten all the crossants!!

Mindee 1 turned up in the throws of toilet training!! Well actually, turned up in a nappy but then was told they had been doing it so I suggested putting on some pants we had here as didn't want them to go backwards with it! I think she will probably be pretty good so not worrying about it really. We are going out, but will keep reminding I think!!

Hi, I've been asked to work a bank holiday by mindee's parent. I look after 2 children. I've never worked a bank holiday in all the 3 yrs of childminding. What do you normally charge?

mumlove · 22/05/2008 09:26

Morning everyone.

Thankyou for the croissants they are yummy.

2 mindees today and off to toddler group. No school run tomorrow or next week .

Saz - if I was asked to work B/H I would charge double fees.

looneytune · 22/05/2008 12:28

Hi everyone, quiet in here.

I missed crossants

Saz - same here, double although I no longer work them.

Well it's very quiet on the work front today so I'm finishing nice and calmly 2nd week of having one of my babies on hols so today and yesterday I've had just the one 1 yr old (til after school). Mon & Tues I just had my tiny baby as ft 1 yr old was off. Got informed I'm not needed on Fri for tiny baby and then prob not Tues if they are still away (Mon is bank hol and Tues my ft mindee usually goes to grannies so I get a free day off). When ft mindee mum found out i'm not having tiny baby tommorrow, she said she'll keep hers off to give me a break (she's on garden leave now) so I also have tomorrow off for free (until after school).

Sooooooo, drop ds off at school tomorrow morning, no mindees during day, leave at 2.30pm to go to first school then pick ds up and just them 2 for the afternoon (mindee picked up about 5ish these days ). Next week half term so no older mindee, hopefully no work at all on Tues, giving extra long weekend. Other 1 yr old back Wed/Thurs so have 2 x 1 yr old and ds (5) but no school runs etc Then tiny baby back for 4.5 hours on the Fri but I've got Dr's at 2.30pm so 1 yr old mindees mum said 'oh, have the day off' so that will be an easy day with me being done at 2pm! Then the next week is my last week - yippeeeeeeeeeeeeee. That will also be easier as 2 day 1 yr old stopping 1 week earlier and ft 1 yr old's mum has offered to not bring every day that week as will help me. All this with still being paid (well, apart from the 2 days of 1 yr old whose stopping earlier for me).

Sorry gone on a bit, just that I was really suffering and worried how I'd get to the end and now I've only got 2 weeks and a day left and that is all pretty easy compared to usual, I'm overjoyed

Right, off to make a cuppa and some lunch as mindee still asleep.

Have a good afternoon everyone

crace - in case you're still about.....GOOD LUCK for tomorrow!!!

mumlove · 22/05/2008 13:26

Mindees are both asleep, so I have made coffee and left some ginger nut biccies for you all.
Looking forward to the weekend as this week has been so busy.

KaySamuels · 22/05/2008 13:59

hi everyone

Baby napping so I have pots soaking and kettle on!

Saz73 - when families start with me I ask if they need me on bank holidays, explaining if they do it will be double fee, they all say no thanks. Wouldn't do one last minute for double fee as look forward to the day off now even tho no payment make it a nice family day.

SBelle - hope potty training going well sounds like will be fine.

Mumlove - ta for biccie, I'm looking forward to weeend too been one of those weeks!

LT - glad things are slowing down a bit for you - don't know how you have done it. Can't believe only two weeks left of work for you!

Does MML still pop in here even though she is a big girl now?

Saz73 · 22/05/2008 14:07

I've been doing this over 3 years now and this is the first time I've ever been asked. I do make a rule that I don't normally work BH but they are working and are new to the area so don't know many to ask. I state on my contacts that I don't work. So I will charge them double.

looneytune · 22/05/2008 14:09

I know, it's suddenly zooming past and I'm due 2 weeks after I stop!! Just hope house stuff is ready in time! Just waiting for the Amby Nest Hammock to arrive which my parents kindly bought Delivery was attempted today which I think was that so fingers crossed!!

Right, best go as 15 month old mindee has just finished her dessert (late lunch). Bless her, had her lunch at the toddler table for the first time today (usually in highchair).

PinkChick · 22/05/2008 14:20

hennipenni · 22/05/2008 14:51

Afternoon all, have had a lovely day today as DDs sports day took place! Both 3 yr old mindees actually got to play together and have an unhurried lunch as afternoon nursery was cancelled due to them taking part in sports day this morning- was really nice not to have to hurry them and tell them we haven't got time to play together.

Got an unexpected day off again tomorrow as DD2 has to go to fracture clinic in the morning as she fell nearly a fortnight ago and may have fractuered her scafoid bone-bad muumy alert for leaving it 10 days before taking her, but in our defence we have been through the walk in centre, NHS direct and the GP!

BradfordMum · 22/05/2008 14:59

PinkChick - are the truffles suitable to be made bye me and a 2 yr old 'helping'?
Can I have the recipe either way?

Many thanks,

Sally x

crace · 22/05/2008 16:17

Hi girls, feeling a bit more in control today - a good friend took dd and I got a blitz through the house. MIL will be here in less than an hour and between bathing me and children, dinner, it will be bed time.

We are up at 5.45 tomorrow and out the door by 6.15 and then baby by mid day. I can hardly believe this is happening, it's crazy.

Hello to everyone, sorry I have sort of just dropped off the face of the earth.

mumlove · 22/05/2008 16:50

crace - all the best for tomorrow will be thinking of you. Looking forward to seeing a photo.

BoysAreLikeDogs · 22/05/2008 17:01

Hi all , tired out from minding/studying/parenting/dieting so having a weekend of loafing/shopping/pampering/relaxing.

PinkChick · 22/05/2008 18:22

Hi BM truffles are soooo easy..small tub of double cream, pour in about a third, break up milk choc and heat until melted and quite thick and gloopy..note dont add too much cream, my first ones were like slop!..so when its thick and all melted/blended trasfer to fridge(when pan cooled or in another dish) and let it 'set'..left mine today about 2 hours which was better than my usual 10 mins..then its like thick nutella and you can mold into shape and add whatever sprinkles etc you like

BradfordMum · 22/05/2008 18:28

Oh yummy!
I'll try them tomorrow after toddlers!
Thanks,
Sally x

southernbelle77 · 22/05/2008 19:18

That sounds devine! might have to try that myself!

PinkChick · 22/05/2008 19:42

they're gorgeous girls, but as i said be careful NOT to put to much cream in..i suppose you could put a little in, break upt he choc and add, then add more cream to make it into a thick paste??.anyway..parents all got some tonight and i have them coming out of my ears

MaureenMLove · 22/05/2008 20:02

Is this the best place to post a good luck message for Crace?

Its unlikely that she'll be on here tonight, but maybe I'll start a thread to let her know I'm thinking of her, along with everyone else of course, but I seem to have well and truely deserted you all! Sorry!

Is everyone OK?

KaySamuels · 22/05/2008 20:05
