Can’t find an answer to this - funded hours

Hi

dont know if anyone knows but I am currently
on unpaid parental leave following my maternity leave which ends on the 5th June.

if I take a weeks holiday at the end of May sO
I have returned to work and then take a weeks unpaid parental leave in June will I be eligible for the 15 hours funded hours for 9 months old. It just seems a shame to miss out on the 3 months worth for the sake of 5 days

I won’t be earning for one week in June but my monthly pay will average out to mean I do make the weekly amount of the eligibility criteria

does anyone know if this is ok?

thanks

Do you mean you’re on unpaid maternity leave? That’s different to parental leave.

I would think your plan is fine but, I thought the funding was assigned in termly blocks?

ChateauProvence · 29/03/2025 07:18

No
my maternity leave has finished I’m on unpaid parental leave

The funding is by term, so you’d need to be eligible for funding in April to get the funding for the summer term, otherwise you’ll get it in September.

ilikeeggs · 29/03/2025 07:23

When does your child start nursery? From what you’ve said I think you’d be eligible from September as to be eligible for the summer term you would need to be back at work by the end of April.

ScrewedByFunding · 29/03/2025 07:23

You need to be back at work by 30th April to ne eligible for the summer term. And get your code by 31st March (monday).

Current plan means you'll get it from September.

ChateauProvence · 29/03/2025 07:26

Ah ok I thought it was May

This. You will have to have returned from maternity/parental leave by the end of April otherwise you will be waiting until september
