One mindee leaving after lunch for school trip, so having early lunch now, other mindee chocka full of cold so is asleep trying to rest...pestering ofsted re my variation..STILL NOTHING!..i told them my time scale, the phone people say oh it will be at least 2 weeks before they get back to you..he's now 'made sure' its been passed to line manager and will 'hopefully' get call later today!?????

oh but they ARE very quick to send me a letter to tell me about my new 'joint' fee they'll be robbing me of in sept..

anyway..off for my panac!

mindee who is 2 had a fit just as we were going out the door for school i managed to control the fit and phone mum then took children to school and the mum met me on the playground.
she took him to a&e as he was sayinf wierd things and didnt know where he was anyway mum phoned to say he was ok

i went for a walk to the park this morning to claim down and fed the ducks

Aw nopoor little boy..i guess it just made him disorientated though?..is he prone to them?

I'm not working today! So far this week only worked 2 1/2 hours on mon and tues after school! Working tomorrow and friday tho (usually my day off!).

I'm off out now to get my haircut! How civilised! I'm going to enjoy the quiet time ALL TO MYSELF!!

HI all, am exhausted today, dont know why, been fairly quiet with only first and last school run(no inbetween) and we usually go all over to park/village today and we missed it as mindee not well so she slept a lot!

Fed up waiting for ofsted to get back...WWYD..i have a child wanting max of 3 days per week, her hours are only before and after school, some nights till 8pm...she'll be contracted for 2 days, but will sometimes use 3 (sometimes only 1 but pays for 2 regardless)..rob is, by taking her on, ill go over my current over 5's ratio for one hour each time shes here(3-4)..so have asked for variation for this hour min 1 day max 3 days..so max 3 hours per week...however im still waiting to hear, i need to let her know before weekend...my only other option..i have a ratio of 3 under 5..on any normal day(wed/thur and fri) i only have 2 under 5's..on occasion i have been asked to have regular mindees/ad hoc mindees AS WELL ont hese days..all fine well within my ratios...but do you think i should cut to the chase and ask ofsted to swap the ratio round (2 under 5, three over 5)??..these ad hoc under 5's have been quite regualr altely, but its not always like that...i dont want to lose a full time space for 3 hours per week....argh..what should i do!???

I thought that yu could just do that, my certificate says 6 under 8 being that no more than 3 can be under 5.

So if I only wanted 2 under 5's that would leave 4 5 - 8's.

yes Shoshe..so ive just looked up my reg on ofsted sight and it i said...may care for no more than 5 children under 8 years; of these, not more than 3 may be under 5 years, and of these, not more than 1 may be under 1 year at any one time ...so basically as long as my under 5 spaces arn't full the day shes with me, i can do this anyway?????>

doh if thats the case i REALLY am stoopid...all along iver read that as 3 under 5, 2 5-8 wehn all along i could have had 5 between 5-8???!!!!

Ta DMO..i had 6 last night on school run(10yr old, 6 yr old, 2 x 5yr olds(one dd), 3 yr old and 1yr old) and (very bad) cm walking behind me saying suspiciously "ooh you've got your hands full today" all the while doing a head count..i said yeah and ive got another starting next week!..y'know when you wonder if someone 'would' cause trouble for you out of spite?..i was well within my ratio's being as one is dd and one was 10..and still will be from monday when newbee starts...
