Free Childcare hours

This post is related to free childcare hours. Will my child still be eligible if I plan on becoming self-employed with private practice within the next 4 months? The gov website states the following Yes or No to - 'Paid employment, or due to start new employment with a confirmed start date' - Not sure if planning on being self-employed counts.

It will ask for my employment start date which I can put in June or July - however there is a chance this may not happen.

(I do not want to declare myself as self-employed just yet from now as my course finishes at the start of June so in an ideal situation I will become self-employed before the end of next term however there is a chance I won't be able to if course providers do not mark everything on time).
Just wanted to know everyone's thoughts about this.

Id get InTouch with them to clarify. I'm sure they will have a contact number/email for you to ask?

Yes it counts, the eligibility checks are made for employment and self employment. You’ll need to provide the info to them as they won’t have data for your self employed earnings until you first file for Self Assessment.

You will be asked to provide copies of invoices and bank statements showing that you are earning the required £186 per week. This is done via a drop box

If you already have a code you will be ok for this term but check the eligibility criteria closely before September to ensure you continue to be eligible.
