Hi

got an enquiry for a child in dd's class..its will be between 1 and 3 days per weeks before and after school.
hours will be 6.45 am - 9am then 3pm-5pm on a noraml week, on a shift week the afternoon hours will cahnge to 3-8, leaving the morning hours the same.

now this mum is getting totally stung by her nursey at minute, but they also dont do such early starts, so has asked me.
Ive told her we would contract her for 2 day as thats in the middle and said i CAn work the third if she needs me(with notice)..fine..

Just working figures out for her and am stuck...do i set her contract at 2 of the normal days (3-5pm) or 2 of the later days(3-8) or one of each???..or should i work out her max and min hours and half that?..thing is though im doing it a little cheaper for her and had just 'knocked' some off instead of setting an hourly fee..do you thin i should just reduce hourly fee instead?

BTW havent told ehr any of this yet, just wanted to sound in a flap to you lot

TIA

I think I would work out hours over say a 4 week period. Then from that divide by 4 to get typical weekly num hours. Would that work?

I would contract hours per week and not days. So maybe contracted hours would be 7 hours per week minimum so you always guarentee that income. Personally i would charge for minimum of 10 hours per week to use when she needs.

thanks guys , have contracted min f 12 1/2 hours per week at the shorter day's rate then if she doestn use any, she apays this amount but if she has a three as long days she pays the extra on top of what her normal fee is...does that make sense??..shes happy tho but now after a phone call and an email i have to write in to ofsted to ask!.FFS..will have to do it tomorrow and hope for the best!
