Going from 4 days to 5 at work - what to do with DD?

Hi all,
My DD just turned one and I am now back at work, with her at a Childminders Monday to Thursday.
I’m using my accrued holiday from maternity leave to take Fridays off for a few months, which means potentially going back full time in the summer. We’re trying to get ahead of what would be best for her as the childminder she is with now will only work Mon-Thurs.

Do we keep her at CM’s Mon-Thurs and look for a nursery who would cover Fridays? I know many have minimums but Friday may be a quieter day.

Or should we move her completely from CM to nursery where she can then stay long term?

Obviously keen to not disrupt her too much as it’s taken a while for her to settle with CM, but equally keeping her in two places may be more confusing for her? Maybe I’m just dreading re-settling her in after the last few weeks.

In an ideal world I’d have a nanny or babysitter do Fridays at home as we WFH and could probably finish early afternoon. But looking into the hassle of registering as an employer, paying tax, getting insurance etc it all seems to not be worth it for just a few hours a week.

Any advice or experiences greatly appreciated!

You may well find that any decent nursery insists on at least two if not three days a week as otherwise your child is unlikely to settle properly.
Personally, I think it's nice for a child to split the week between nursery and another form of childcare as, however good the nursery, it is a setting with multiple children whereas many childminders have a more homely environment and they'll be out and about in the area more.

I work Mon to Thursday if any parent decides they need a Friday I have some cm friends that the child already knows and they take them sometimes going to 2 days they also cover if I'm on holiday and vice versa

Are there any other parents at your workplace who have a childminder? They might be able to fill the gap.

When DD was 18 months I went back to work
full old from 4 days a week and she just went to nursery on the Friday and stayed at her childminder Monday to Thursday (CM doesn’t work Fridays). She was absolutely fine. We increased nursery to 2 days a week around 9 months after that, so she now (age 3) does a Monday and Friday at nursery, and Tuesday to Thursday with CM. All fine.
