Funded childcare minimum earnings thresholds for the self employed

Does anyone have experience with being in the first 12 months of self employment and not meeting the minimum earnings threshold for funded childcare hours? I know that you get flexibility within the first 12 months but how much below the £183 per week can you drop? I cant find any specifics online.

Your first year of trading is exempt from the earnings criteria if it's your first self employment.

After that as long as you're earning enough each quarter when you reconfirm it's fine. Don't get hung up on week by week.
