should my CM tell me before i collect my child that one of her mindees has had chicken pox? especially if they are still covered in scabs?

if my lo develops chicken pox over the holidays do i notify her?

how long should a child be kept home from childminders if they have it?

i am just looking to find the correct procedures here.

if they are scabbed, they're unlikely to be infectious

NHS on contagion

your child was far more likely to catch it before the spots came out - that is when chicken pox is most contagious

I would tell my mindees parents if one of them, or my own dd had chicken pox. If one of the mindees got it over the holidays / weekend etc then the parents should make me aware.
I would take a mindee with chicken pox as long as the other parents didn't mind.
Children are still contagious until the last spot has scabbed over so should be kept off until then unless the childminder doesn't mind.
The cm should not be taking them to another area where they could pass it on tho, ie toddler group.
