CHILDMINDING IN CAMBRIDGE

I am a childminder and currently live in Hampshire. We are considering moving to the Cambridge area but it's very dependent on me being able to continue working. Childminders are very in demand where I live at the moment and getting contracts is very easy - I've never even had to advertise and am always full!! Does anyone know how in demand childminders are in the Cambridge area, and how much they charge per hour there? Any info would be gratefully appreciated as hubby has been offered his dream job!

I'm about 6 miles from Cambridge and if my phone is anything to go by its a good time to move - depending where you end up. Some villages have few or no childminders - Caldecote, Madingley, Comberton. Some have loads - Cambourne and Bar Hill.

In the city centre I think its around £5 plus per hour. In the villages it gets lower - around £3.50-£4.50 or even lower further out.

Very little demand for full timers but enough part timers to keep me full most of the time. I've bought 1 advert in 7 years of childminding.
