Pregnant CMs and those on Maternity Leave!

Whilst I remember about it (i.e. before I start back cm-ing and my life turns manic again - or more so than it is at the moment with dd aged 5 and ds aged 8 weeks!) if you get/will get Maternity Allowance from our dear government (?!) then when you are thinking of returning to work, you are allowed to do up to 10 'Keeping in Touch' days. I phoned the Jobcentre (who deal with MA) to tell them I was doing 2 KIT days and then returning on x date, lady advised me to take my first 8 days of minding as KIT days - thereby still getting MA for those days/weeks (I work part-time so instead of MA stopping this week, it stops at end of May )

Also, don't forget to suspend membership of NMCA to save on a few pennies - and for my KIT days they made a note on their files that I would be working those particular days should any insurance issues arise.

Hope this makes sense!
