How to judge a CM starting out?

Hi all - in my continuing quest to find childcare for when I return to work I have been calling lots of CMs on Childcarelink website. I called one lady who I'm going to visit who is starting out at a childminder (her webpage says she has 20 years childcare experience - not sure what in)

How do I tell if she's any good if there are no other children there yet???

This must happen alot as people qualify I suppose?

Absoluteley fair point bonkerz - I thought I was being unreasonable but when making these decisions everything comes into my head... Please don't think I'm judging people's ability to be a competent CM.

I have spoken to her this evening and I think we'll do a few trial sessions (have no problem paying if necessary). Feel that everyone has really helped, so thank-you. I appreciate it!

Childcare exp was from working in a nursery. I should also point out that she's had a knee op so was just making a general assumption on health (probably unfairly)

Good that you're having a trial, I hope it goes well!
