CM Club: anyone been thru CSSIW registration in Wales?

if so how long does it take in a 'normal' situation ...got briefing meeting in June then I can go on ICP course, was intially hoping to get up and running in September [removes rose tinted glasses] don't think thats going to happen is it?
Is it worth ringing CSSIW to see what they say?

I am in south wales. I had a briefing session at the beginning of feb, where I was given details of the ICP courses. I started that at the end of Feb and I finished it last week (7 x 2 hour sessions), exam is this thurs. Next week is a mentoring sessions. I have been given part 1 of the application form to complete and will be given part 2 at the mentoring session. Once I have written my policies then I can make an appt at my local CSSIW office and personally hand in the application forms and relevant document (ie forms for crb/ health checks. Then I have to wait up to 6 months for it all to be processed!!

It is very frustrating as I thought it would be a lot quicker. Sorry but I cant see you being ready for sept. That is what I wanted too as my dd starts nursery then.

I moved from England to Wales and have to re-register. I spoke to lady on the child protection course who went to a briefing session last September and is likely to be registered this September!!

It's definately worth it in the end but quite a commitment to get there!!
